hey Ross, when you test out these ZF FGs, try the launch in 2nd gear (manual mode). Foot hard on brake and accelerator and then go. In 2nd gear it will let you build up some boost off the line, and without any gear shifts it will be smooth power all the way to 100. I would get 4.5-4.9s in my lightly tuned FG using this method, with traction control on.

Ford nailed it with the FG. It is a beautifully styled car that looks better than the updates that followed . I have a G6E 2008 and its just so relaxing to drive with tons of power. The interior (dashboard layout etc) is a bit dated, but still very functional with the centre-sceen and good reversing camera plus rear sensors that are excellent. An SUV would be easier for me to get into (70 yrs old) however I am very reluctant to part with my Falcon.

It's a bit too fast and furious for me, stock looking cars will hold their value more as time goes on. It's hard to find a VL turbo that's hasn't been molested, same will probably be the case with the g6e turbo.
