Been an Alain Ackermann fan since before Eluveitie and it's great seeing him get respect. I still remember all the "RIP Elu with no Merlin or Anna" comments a few years ago, and I was saying, "Not so fast, Wait for it!" Ackermann is a beast and his practice regime is intense.

Great reaction, to answer your question about the number of bandmembers, there are 9 members in Eluveitie: besides the founder and male vocalist Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann for the harsh vocals (he also plays the low whistle, tin whistle, mandola, Celtic harp, bodhran, bagpipe and Uileann pipes) and the female vocalist Fabienne "Fabi" Erni for the clean vocals and occasional high screams (she also plays the Celtic harp), there is Nicole Ansperger on the fiddle (or violin, depends on how it is played I think), Michalina Malisz on hurdy gurdy, Matteo Sisti on bagpipes, tin whistle and low whistle, Kai Brem on bass, Alain Ackermann on drums, Jonas Wolf and Rafael Salzmann on guitars. They are all from Switzerland except Michalina (Poland) and Nicole (Germany). In an interview for the podcast of vocal coach Beth Roars, Fabienne was asked about her musical career and her answer was that this is the first band she ever was a member of and before joining Eluveitie she sang mostly at private celebrations like weddings and such. Joining Eluveitie was a big step for her: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2KXoXSvpKacf68 And the story of Michalina joining the band is even more unreal: On her 60k Subs Q&A video on her channel she anwers a question about that and she told that she did Eluveitie covers on KZbin and posted them on her channel. One day she received a message on Facebook from someone who claimed to be Chrigel but she did not take it serious at first. But then later that day she read that Eluveitie announced that Ivo Henzi, Merlin Sutter and Anna Murphy left the band and suddenly the Facebook message became more relevant. What if Chrigel had seen her Eluveitie covers on the hurdy gurdy and wants to recruit her for the band, now that Anna left and they need a new hurdy gurdy player?
