Hi, I'm Kat. This looks really interesting. Is it possible to create a one-cycle thread to connect both the flange when it rotates? (it may become a flange, but with thread feature like that of a male and female adaptor. oh, well.. I sound crazy, aren't I..? lol

Really impressive idea. Great video. If I'm understanding this correctly, the flange is being made of two seperate parts, an inner piece that is inserted into an outer ring, forming a flange that can rotate around the inner piece? And this allows for the outer ring to rotate even after the inner piece has been welded to the connecting pipe? Sounds like that would make the bolting process much easier. Also, can the outer ring be made of a different, less expensive material than the inner part? Again, great video.

Thanks for the interest Brandon. In response to some of your questions- Yes, the two-piece design allows the outer "Bolting Ring" to rotate around the insert after the pipe has been welded to the Insert (the inner piece). Because of the rotating ability of the Insert flange, aligning the bolt holes of the mating flange is much easier when compared to a stationary, one-piece flange.

And to answer your last question, the Bolting Ring CAN be made out of a less expensive material, such as carbon steel, and the insert can be manufactured to match whatever material the process pipe specifications call for- most commonly Stainless Steel, Nickel Alloys (such as Hastelloy), Titanium... anything really.
