The little calf that didn't make it looked to me like he had been born with some serious problems that weren't treatable, no matter what you could and did try. It just happens sometimes. And we cannot always save them. You're a wonderful rancher, you work hard, and it's a joy to watch your videos. You always do your best, and that shows up in the health and beauty of your cattle. Don't worry about those who say negative things...you're doing a marvelous job! I always look forward to your next video...reminds me so much of my grandpa's place when I was a kid. Makes me happy. Thank you for being there, young man.

My Dad had a dairy in the 50s and 60s he always said he loved to watch cows eat. The scene watching the cows out in fresh pasture reminded me of that. As always great job!

Congratulations to all the winners! Death is a part of life on a ranch....I appreciate the fact that you don't sugar coat life. Those channels that make farming and ranching out to be all sunshine and roses are not just lying to their viewers they are lying to themselves. Sorry for the loss...it's a hit emotionally AND financially.

Your 100% right we as farmers are our hardest critics always asking ourselves what else we could have done or what we should have done. But honestly sometimes it's a blessing that they don't make it saves some suffering and beating ourselves up about what we can do! God bless you and your family take care.

Congratulations to the 5 winners! That new spring grass must taste wonderful, the cows were having a feast eating it!! That little calf definitely had some major problems. It just didn't look healthy. So for anyone that's been a FTR subscriber for several years knows how hard you work to help the sickly calves (or mama cows) try to thrive. Losing animals is just a sad part of life that happens sometimes and there's nothing that could have helped. It was good to see Mrs. FTR and your sweet little ones! See ya on the next FTR!

Yep, like you said at the end. Unfortunately It's part of it, never easy to deal with and you always wonder if there was something you could of done differently. But you did what you could and gave her a shot, that's all you can do. Much respect for showing the good bad and ugly on your channel. Comments from people never make it easy to show the bad. You did what you could. Great video thanks.

The cow has a very full udder tho. I know it should be but it doesn't look like the calf has been taking much out of her. Sorry to hear the calf didn't make it but you did your best and that's ranching as anyone who's lived the ranching/farming life knows. My dad used to fetch in a new born calf and Mother warmed it in front of the coal range in the kitchen, she fed it something( I don't recall what,) and most times they made it but some didn't. These are part of my earliest memories às a toddler. That's nearly 70yrs ago, so life doesn't change much when you're farming animals. You win most you lose some. You do an awesome job of simply being real mate . From Aussie 🇦🇺✝️🤗💞✌️👍👏🇺🇲

When my cousin and I were young, we were always trying to save a baby bird, kitten, squirrel, turtle, you get the idea. He would give us a hug and say, 'That's what keeps us from being azz deep in whatever little animal it was.' A hard lesson, but the truth. I'm sure sorry you lost that calf, but he also said, 'If you've got livestock, sometimes you get dead stock.' You gave him your best, but sometimes it happens. Everyone who has watched your channel for any length of time knows you care a lot and have the knowledge to run a great herd.

Tyler, I’m really sorry about the loss of your little calf. I know that’s not the way you wanted in the cuffing season, but I am proud of you for the effort you made to redeem the little guy.❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ Don’t be discouraged, after all, look at all the calves, you’ve been able to save through bottlefeeding, and helping assist the birth of a difficult delivery and have everything turned out just fine. I’m older than you, and I’ve learned that we have to look at the positive in life rather than the negative going to succeed, and I think you are a success😊 a farmer, and as a ranger, and it’s an honor to watch your videos❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Plants look like equisetum (horsetail plants). They grow in very damp areas. The stems contain silica crystals. Historically people used them to clean pots and pans. They would take a handful of stems and grind the butt ends on the dirty pans. I have personally tried this and they will clean a pan almost as good as brillow pads.
