Remember the reason this seems so powerful is because you see people wearing cool uniforms together with grand music. The aestethic is important in politics, It's the reason the Nazis were able to appeal to people, because not only did they promise a solution to economic hardship, give a scapegoat for all the problems, but also wore splendid looking uniforms marched in collumns and sang powerful songs. If you remove all of that the nazis are just evil people that want to murder and enforce capitalist conservative values on people with military force but because they had good aestethics people ignorantly sided with them and still do to this day for that same reason.

According to German Wikipedia there exists an audio recording from 1929 by the Agitprop-group "Der rote Wedding" who used this song as the overture of their performances. I haven't tracked down that source (it's a book) and I haven't heard the original recording either so I can't 100% verify it but I think it's reasonable to assume that this is an upload of that recording.
