Rotherham abuse scandal: Calls for more accountability after IOPC report

One thousand four hundred girls were abused, trafficked and groomed in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013.

But not one police officer, past or present, lost their job - despite more than 200 allegations of police failures.
Today victims and survivors responded angrily to the publication of a report by the police watchdog into what went wrong, because - they say - the investigation, which took eight years and cost £6 million, hasn't held anyone fully accountable.

I am now retired, I was previously an advice worker in a nationwide Advice Agency. One of my colleagues, a Sikh man (this ws twenty or so years ago), told me that Sikh girls were being predated upon by Pakistani men and therefore the Sikh community escourted their daughters too and from school etc as Pakistani men hung around and were propositioning their girls. He said this was a huge problem. Ask the Sikh community about this. My Pakistani women friends were in disbelief at first as to what was going on. They feel horrified and ashamed but, as anyone who knows a Pakistani community well, knows how suppressing their culture is as to exposing anything about their activities. Wasnt one senior police officer suspected of corruption. Bribes are common useage by Pakistanis as thats what works in Pakistan

It's funny that you've mentioned "Massacre of innocents"; can it be connected in some way with "Walpurga night" by any chance? It's the last day of April, night actually. In Oxford the celebrations began from 2am and finished at 8am. Strange hours weren't they? But what really puzzled me: the following day I saw a huge cauldron left by my local Waitrose store. It was brownish black and looked used... I don't think they cooked vegetable soul in that old pot that night... It was bank holiday then so few people were out and about, what I regret is that I didn't take any snap of it, I was on my way from work (key worker). When I returned the day after that cauldron vanished. I'm writing this comment because I cannot find a good answer: why would anyone have put such an old fashioned relict in a small English town ( South Oxfordshire)? To do what exactly??

The only time individual Police Officers are held to account is when senior officers don’t like them or when they have done something that cannot be covered up. Even then many times they are charged with a lesser offence and many times get lighter sentences

There was a rumour of something similar in Birmingham back in the mid 00s. You have to ask yourself what did the men in Rotherham do?......from what I've seen if the police can't do they're job the community have no choice but to take immediate action.
