Lisa's husband, Andy here. I was a kid in the Barnsley away end. This was a time when both the Reds and Millers terrified the Sheffield teams. It was a great rivalry and this was one of the best football matches I ever witnessed. Before the return match at Oakwell I went up to Norman Hunter and Emlyn Hughes to ask for their autographs. They both obliged and Emlyn got Ronnie Moore to take my book into the changing rooms to get all the Millers autographs. A different time. Always looked out for Rotherham's results because of that 👍.

Cracking match. I was 14 yrs old at the time. I remember the games Town played against these two sides the season before when we missed out on promotion. Both very good sides... oh and I remember Mr Willis too!

When this was originally broadcast Martin Tyler was the commentator, then he mysteriously disappeared from Yorkshire TV and John Helm (whom I've never been struck on) appeared. I suspect YTV have replaced MT's dialogue with John Helm. Can anyone shed any further light on this?

I know that Tyler moved to another region, possibly Granada at that time, so I don't know how Granada might have felt about YTV using him in coverage. Indeed I have no idea at all how the ITV network companies in general would handle anything like that.
