Tried a recipe from a professional chef, tried yours, you win BY FAR! They are amazing. I was at first surprised that there was no salt in them, but you don't need it, they were perfect with the chicken curry we made. They were flaky and soft, perfect! The method is very well explained, especially the rolling part (cone, tucking etc..) and the clapping. I used the container version to clap. We are making the recipe again tomorrow with jerk chicken... thank you so much!

YOU ROCK!! It’s a shame how many times I was taught to make roti. All the traditional ways I always thought no way too complicated. So they didn’t make me do it. Girl, now I live in a place where if I want Guyanese food I need to make it myself. So I was feeling brave and I found you, what I posted my roti on Instagram, I didn’t realize some of the people who contacted me were still following me. They all wanted the recipe and I forwarded your link. One friend already followed you and never saw the roti recipe. Thank you, it’s not only easy but my roti came out perfectly flaky with lovely “ brown bits”😋. Making more right now, thank you, sooo soooo easy!

Tried someone else's recipe and it was such a flop, I haven't tried in 10 years. Even trekked all over New York, to purchase from the community, but I won't have to anymore, because of your recipe. Since I haven't progressed to making curried stews to eat with it, I settled for my 3 hour chili. OH! MY! GOSH! I'm in heaven! Thank you for your generosity in sharing your "secret sauce (yeast)." It's PERFECT! You even shared remedies for clapping; using a container instead. God bless you and your family. Thank you so much, again! I'm SO grateful!

I would just like to clarify that generally roti and paratha are not interchangeable. The roti (of north Indian origin) is a simple, two layered, puffed-up bread made of fine wheat flour (atta) whereas paratha (of south Indian origin) is a layered flatbread made with all-purpose flour (maida). It seems to me that you made the latter and it looks very good! Keep up the good work!
@HSJ1076 Жыл бұрын
It is interchangeable, within the numerous variations.. Malay term for what North Indians call paratha is roti... Chapati/phulkaa/roti is an interchangeable term for the same thing in the North....

Also things I add to mine that make the actual roti a bit more tasty: salt, black pepper/ cayenne pepper, powder milk ( or substitute half of the water for evaporated milk). Sometimes I forget to make these additions and I can definitely taste the difference. Thank you for igniting my love for roti💕

@@dowdyhomemadeicecream9706 ..not sure. I’ve tried other recipes where I cooked them off and froze them. When it came to preheating it in a pan it turned out a bit tough. Maybe this recipe is more forgiving.
