I purchased one of these kits and unfortunately I received two of the same 3D print camera mounts (both right side) and the 3D print was bit shabby. To add to this two of the HobbyWing threaded flight stack standoffs didn't have threads and one of the Hypetrain Blaster motors was missing a prop nut. However, after contacting the Rotor Riot service team they couldn't have been more helpful, they quickly responded by sending me new parts required to ensure the build was of high quality. I highly recommend Rotor Riot and their aftermarket service is outstanding. Great service guys!

I’m new to FPV and this is exactly what I was looking for! After plenty of research despite all the hate I see rotor riot getting, I decided to go with this build from Rotor Riot because of the fact I dig their professionalism pumping out high quality videos working with reputable companies such as DJI. Thank you again to Rotor Riot for providing us with great quality content!🙌🏾

Only making videos of products they make them self... “Using the rotor riot frame, and the rotor riot motors, tape the wires down with the rotor riot tape, and then solder it to the rotor riot solder and rotor riot tin. Then tighten all of your rotor riot screws with your rotor riot wrenches....” Keep telling me about the products you guys actually use please! A small pointer for future builds: use a larger soldering tip for the larger pads. Spreads the heat quicker and lets the solder flow more easily, with a smaller chance of burning electronics. For the rest: Nice build!!!

when the solder isn't flowing like when soldering the two power leads there, use a little bit of solder flux. Chances are that the flux has all disappeared out of the solder after holding the heat onto it for so long. Another way to introduce flux into the solder is to just add some new solder. You can tell if there's enough flux in the solder by how shiny it is and how well the iron separates from the solder (if the solder sticks to the iron when lifting as opposed to forming a nice shiny bubble of solder releasing easily).

So if I use crossfire I would not use the sbus connection and wire the crossfire reciever to the rx and tx of an open uart correct? I wish the air unit was not so large. I don't have a frame big enough to fit it. Call me when they shrink it down some. Lol

Pro-tip: Never put a lighter flame on a capacitor. Lol! They have a liquid electrolyte in them that can boil, causing the capacitor to pop. This is why the top of them have a perforated metal cap. They're designed to have the top blow open like a soda can if they get too hot.
@richardjeffries1133
@richardjeffries1133 3 жыл бұрын
How would you suggest activating the heat shrink then lol
@JohnFerrier
@JohnFerrier 3 жыл бұрын
@@richardjeffries1133 Heat shrink melts at a lower temperature than what a capacitor's electrolytic boils at. So, you want to use something that has enough heat but not too much. I used to work on wiring harnesses and did this all of the time. We used a heat gun for it. It's basically like a hotter hair dryer but you can get attachments for focusing the air. It's also good to use for surface mounted soldering on circuit boards! So, dual purpose. :)
