Having viewed about a hundred+ FPV videos over the past few months, trying to learn about what I want to be my new hobby, I was about to pull the trigger on a TBS Oblivion RTF package to get me into the air and learning to fly at a beginner level (half the price of this DJI package), but the sheer quality and sleekness of DJI has me knowing that I'd much rather have HD footage. It looks great and for someone who literally is starting from scratch, I could justify the expensive price. The only downside for me at least, is that I still have to source and build a quad and literally have no idea how to solder or build. If the quad came with this package, I'd buy it as a RTF solution, based on what I've just seen. I'll wait for more reviews meantime and continue saving money.

Current top of the line radios are $100 cheaper and have voice alerts, timers, ability to change sticks, easy way to switch models that most FPV pilots have and use. I totally agree with LD Silva that we need a module bay receiver for Fatshark. Don't worry. I guess this solution is unlikely to be used by pro-pilots because of TX heavy weight. Also Fatshark in the fight with they new Bite Frost or if you want you can try R2Teck NEXG1. Let's wait about review from Joshua)

comparing the DJI FPV SYSTEM to Fatshark is absolutely dumb. These are two TOTALLY COMPLETELY different systems. The DJI gives you an absolutely amazing visual experience. The Fatsharks give you a comfortable analog fpv tool to fly FPV. NOTHING IN COMMON …..

Anyone else think DJI are going to have a set of Fat Shark goggles nailed to a plaque which is hung on the wall of their head office?

Easy, they'll probably sell you a special DJI goggles compatible backpack for the low low price of $299 :)

So what? Throw away my fatsharks, Radio, Crossfire system and replace it with DJI stuff ? Why cant we have a module that is compatible with fatshark or something like that... Keep trying :))) someone will soon get it right.

Because dji is loosing customers and they want to rule a new market now with beefed up phantom parts

Looks like the future is now! =P Drew you can rub that in Bardwell's face, he said not to long ago "No - this won't happen for a looooong time...". ;-)

Careful. Go watch the video and tell me all the problems with digital HD systems. The problems included latency, which DJI have solved. But they also included cost, size, and weight, which are still issues here. This is a very, very good system. The idea that HD FPV is going to displace analog is still not going to happen for a looooong time.

Here’s the only problem: it’s proprietary. Meaning, you can really only use it as whole package and that package will cost you over $1000, not including the quad! You’re gonna have to be well into the hobby to make it worthwhile, and I just don’t see most racers snatching this up for that cost.
