I've seen the stage version many times and I adored the film version!! Great casting, wonderful shots, great settings. It was really well done. I had high expectations for this movie and they came true ;) Even some of the songs were better than the stage version... Daniel Huttlestone's Giants In The Sky is a beauty. He gave the song a whole new dimension, and that goes for Meryl Streep as well! The soundtrack is a must buy.

Both the movie/soundtrack even the original musical is just AMAZING!! I have listened to the soundtrack at least 20 times!

I think I fit into both camps. I never watched the fill play before. I saw the movie, I just listened to the entire soundtrack. So when the movie came out, I was surprised at some of the deaths. But Iw as able to look past that and love this for what it is. A good movie with Wonderful music.

That's exactly how I felt when I first saw it in theatres. I did not like it especially, and I found it to be long and kinda tedious. But then, I bought the Blu-ray, and watched it a second time, and I listened to the lyrics more faithfuly, and then the whole story just seemed attractive to me.

You are voicing so many things that I want to communicate to everyone who hated this movie. It's absolutely meant to be revisited to fully appreciate what it's trying to say. Moviegoers wanted a fun fluffy fairy tale movie and this isn't that at all
