Have done similar work to rotten columns on farms. But after the bottom collapsed six inches. Piss and shit from cattle soon eats steel and even galv steel. Used a telehandler to lift the column into place. I didn't make a repair section, just got the nearest size above because the original size was no longer available. Four years later, it's holding up well. Great video guys!
@skitown11 Жыл бұрын
So many things wrong with this: Did an engineer sign off on using GMAW and 6010? Neither are AWS pre approved electrodes for structural applications. Also, that's not a CJP, complete joint penetration without welding the back side, which could have been done by cutting the siding and accessing from the back. Did you even consult an engineer? If not you're exposing yourself to all kinds of liability.

great work. maybe think about cutting you're column shorter and adding non-shrink/structural grout underneath. mix it up wet and pour it into a small form around the base, it sets up hard in like 3 hours and that way you get complete support under the column. keep up the good work boys

Do a video on how to fit parts that dont fit where thet need to fit because of obstructions things in the way and how to shave pieces down with a grinder to make them fit properly.
