Rotten Door Repair - Sorting Out Some Rot In A Wooden Door

What I thought would be a simple case of planing a bit off a wooden door to stop it binding after it had swelled in the rain turns into a full scale rot repair job.

Excellent work and training video for people, but sadly no doubt most people will still chuck the door and get someone to fit a new door at £400+ total cost

It is fine. I would have painted the bottom of the door and instead of the stile plates perhaps a kick plate would have been better. It would span the entire bottom and serve to hold everything together. I am working on a similar project. myself. My local people want 5k to replace the entire french door when I am sure I can repair it for a 100 dollars. I have the tools after all.

Might of been worth putting a kick plate on the internal side cover over those straps 🤷🏽‍♂️
