Heroic effort. Given the block you’ve put in I reckoned you’d dip in under 2:20 but the marathon is so unpredictable. It was still a huge run. I bet having Jake jump in to pace you put an extra pep in your step!

Or maybe with Nienke Brinkman group she did sub 2:23 at Rotterdam but her improvement in her running journey (only two-three years of running) is unbelievable, 2020 2h39 virtual marathon, 2021 competing at the best level in trail (2nd best trailer of the world in short distance), end of 2021 2h26 at Valencia.

Great race! You looked smooth, relaxed, and strong, very impressive! In the early 80's a friend was shooting for an OTQ, 2:19:04 was the standard. He raced at Eugene, as he entered the stadium he looked at the clock on the scoreboard, it read 2:19:04! He finished in 2:20:03, missed by 59 seconds. Running can be a cruel mistress🙂! Of course that's what it so great about it as well, no one gives you anything, you earn everything you get. That full cherry is going to taste great!! Keep on rockin!

Hi Nick, wow what a great result that was, amazing! And what a journey to get there. Did you have some workout that didn't go as planned or wished? How do you mentally deal with it? And about easy runs, you said that should not look at the watch to check the pace, but how do you know if it's too slow and maybe not useful? Thanks :-) and keep it up
@justalilbester2 жыл бұрын
There’s no such thing as too slow on an easy run. Easy runs should feel easy 🙌🏻 Almost all sessions went according to plan. In the next race it’ll be more experience in the legs and that elusive sub 2:20 awaits :)
