30 DAY Model A Ford Build! - WELDING A pile of JUNK Model A Parts Together to Make A BANGER Racecar!

In the last video I picked up a 1929 Model A Ford chassis that was supposed to be a good runner so i could whip up a Banger Racecar for some races at the end of the month. Got it kind of running in the last video, but the engine needs some serious attention. With parts ordered and on the way to make it run right, its time to make a body on this chassis. I rounded up all of my junk Model A body parts to try to fashion up a roadster Model A-ish body on this thing. Hours of cutting, welding, and grinding later, i think this rusty Model A roadster is turning out pretty good. There is a lot of fab work left, but i think the project is on the right track! 19 days left to get this thing done, lets see what happens...

If you are interest there is a place here in Oklahoma City at SE 44th and Post road that is a Model T junk yard, has a lot of bodies and parts. Looks to be in good condition from a distance. To me I would never go this far to build anything that is rotten and rusted as this one. One crash and you may die even with roll cages. But this is a making from scratch. Looking foward tothe next video.

Thanks Kenth, I am assuming you mean the 5 window construction? Being that this car is going to be a dedicated banger racecar, the idea is to go as light as possible, so dropping the weight of the entire roof line, door tops, and windshield pillars adds up to quite an amount dropped. Most of the guys running have stripped down roadsters like this. Also, the tops of the doors were 31 1/2 with those angled pillars so they didn't match the windshield and were short of the rear roof line, not that it couldn't be made to work... But really, everything above the body lines was in pretty poor condition, extremely rotten....

Probably just put it back on the pile of model a sheet metal. The pillars were rotted out for the windshield, that went on the scrap pile, the 28 rear section I saved though...

Very dissapointing. Took a hard to find hardtop and chopped it off to turn It into a monstrosity.
