Nevertheless, I have the word νενίκηκα ("I have conquered") tattooed on my arm, partly in defiance of Theodoret's words. As a specialist in the emperor Julian, I truly appreciate this tribute to him!

More than just a fan of Ancient Greek religion, he directly questioned the Christian belief system and wanted to give state support to philosophical schools reopening.. He really became a threat to the Church power structure. This man and Andronicus Comnenus are truly the black sheep of Byzantine imperial rule. The latter went against the aristocrats and powerful monasteries of his time. Really interesting and capable individual, with one of the worst public executions ever recorded being his last three days alive.

Old neighbours of mine, we grew up in the same neighborhood in different generations. Sakis, Themis, and Jim painted the passion and integrity of the greek scene with a single stroke. Rotting Christ haven't clicked to me from Aealo onwards, but this song is so fucking special. As an fanatic lunatic of both philosophy and black metal, and a weeping soul about how the West's progress was put to a pause with the war against philosophy (especially Epicureanism) since the rise of Christianity, this song is a map of why we are still in this pathetic state as a civilisation. And we are making steps back and not forward. This is a modern monument in the memory of a world that sadly never came into existence.

Insane song, very historically accurate, so accurate the song they made makes it extremely poetic and tbh badass. Im a Christian myself and this song is very interesting and indulgent

The structure of the song is pretty much the same of the previous albuns. Nevertheless it's a very atmospheric song, with melodic guitars and beautiful choirs. About the lyrics, Rotting Christ is one of the only bands that adds a relevant criticism in their song, quoting Voltaire, Dostoievski, Milton and so on. Maybe some could not agree with them, but it's a truly and relevant treatise of skepticism.

Απο την ημερα που βγηκε Σακη το νεο αλμπουμ, η διαδρομη σπιτι δουλεια και δουλεια σπιτι ειναι απλα μαγεια...η μουσικη, οι στιχοι.. Τους ανακάλυψα τη δεκαετία του 90 που ήμουν έφηβη, όχι καταλάθος αλλά επειδή άκουγα αυτή την μουσική και έψαχνα. Έχω πια έναν γιο ο οποίος είναι τώρα 14 χρονών και έχει και αυτός 1-2 χρόνια που ανακάλυψε ότι αυτό το είδος προτιμάει (να 'ξερες τι άγχος το είχα παλιότερα μην επηρεαστεί από φίλους και κακές παρέες και μου βγει τράπερ! 😂 ευτυχώς εξελίχθηκε σε μεταλάς και ησύχασα η δόλια η μάνα) και γενικά είναι στη φάση που ψάχνει,ανακαλύπτει κλπ. Το πρώτο τραγούδι που του έβαλα να ακούσει ήταν το "Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού" και πλέον γουστάρω με χίλια που ακούμε παρέα μάνα και γιος τα καινούρια τους τραγούδια, συζητάμε για τα παλιά και που όπως έγραψες και εσύ, ο γιος μου μεγαλώνει μαζί με το συγκρότημα και τη μουσική με τα οποία μεγάλωσα και εγώ. Οπότε προστέθηκε άλλος ένας λόγος να αγαπώ τους R.C γιατί ενώ απολαμβάνω τις μουσικάρες τους ταυτόχρονα έχω βρει και δίαυλο επικοινωνίας με τον μικρό ο οποίος μεγαλώνει και γ@μω την εφηβεία μου, τί έχω να τραβήξω! Τώρα θα μου πεις, τί σου λέω, τί σε νοιάζει και δίκιο θα χεις δηλαδή, απλά διαβάζοντας το σχόλιο σου μου βγήκε να πω και εγώ τα δικά μου μωρέ...😁

Ωραίος φίλε, κι εμένα το κεραυνός κυβερνητος μ έβαλε σοβαρά στη φάση τους. Είχα ακούσει πρώτο το αθάνατοι εστε όταν ήμουν γυμνάσιο εκεί 2005-06, αλλά δε μου είχε κάνει τόσο κλικ τότε, λέω ψιλο-ποπ μέταλ με growl; δεν τρελαίνομαι 😅. Μετά έβγαλαν τα theogonia/aealo κι άντε γειά, από τότε είμαι φαν til I die. Επίσης τσεκαρε το τελευταίο των varathron αν δε το χεις ακούσει, crimson temple... η λέξη αριστούργημα είναι μικρή

Δυστυχώς για όσους τους ακολούθησαν από την αρχή ή σχεδόν από την αρχή, μόνο κακή εικόνα έχουν πλέον. Μπάνταρα, κομματαρες αλλά κάπου το νέο τους στυλ κουράζει, δυστυχώς. Μέχρι το κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού, γαμουσαν, πλέον τα ίδια και τα ίδια, τραγούδια που δε καταλαβαίνεις που αρχίζουν και που τελειώνουν. Ας ελπίσουμε σε επάνοδο στα αυτιά των black metalάδων που προσωπικά λείπει ο ακραίος ήχος και η μαυρίλα
