I suppose they believe the invisible man in the sky wouldn't appreciate it. But that's what all religion is - control of the masses through fear and oppression of individual free will. Religion is a great way to make people behave without having to do anything, while at the same time taking in tons of tax free donations from people looking to buy their way into a fictional paradise when they die. There's critical thinking. Or perhaps it's all real but God's just the evil dictator and Satan's the savior made to look evil by a being which only ever lets you hear his side of the story.
