In Rottweil (Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) there is the elevator test tower from thyssenkrupp ELEVATOR AG, which I find very fascinating (TK Elevator Testturm, TK Elevator Testtower). With a height of 246 meters, it is the tallest building in Baden-Württemberg. At the same time, at 232 meters, it offers the highest visitor viewing platform in the whole of Germany.
During my visit to the tower for this report on August 21, 2019, I was also able to take a look behind the scenes:
I looked at the test environment for the MULTI - the first elevator system without a rope that is currently under development. I was also able to take a look into the customer lobby and the two large rentable conference rooms at heights of 220 and 216 meters. In addition, I was also allowed to look/film into the large transport shaft for loads at a height of 190 meters / film and I also show the vibration absorber installed at a height of 190 meters in the video. Finally, there are of course also recordings of the ascent with the panoramic elevator and of the fascinating all-round view on the visitor platform at a height of 232 meters.
