Everytime I see David or hear his fantastic voice, it brings tears to my eyes. Fell in love with him when I was 15, now I am 66, and he still is the love of my life. Rest in Peace, David.

27 years, since He passed away. Best singer, loved his voice so well. It touches you in your heart an soul. Uriah Heep was never the same without him.

LA VERDAD QUE CHINGONA VOZ, LASTIMA DE HABERNOS DEJADO TAN PRONTO, LARGA VIDA SEÑOR DAVID BYRON. UN CANTANTE A QUIEN NO SE LE HA DADO EL RECONOCIMIENTO MUSICAL QUE SE MERECE.

Beautifully penned, sang and played... Byron on voice and Clem Clempson on guitar..the LP version is even better in my opinion!!! Great job. Thanks

The production is far better on this version, and I think even the vocals better here. The biggest detriment is the background noise on the live BBC version.

Tengo el LP de Roug Diamond y tuve la suerte de ver en Madrid a la Byron Band, con Mel Collins al saxo, genial cantante y memorables discos los que hizo con Uriah Heep al igual que sus dos discos en solitario.

Sadly enough, Rough Diamond only recorded one album before David left. What only very few know, they recorded another nice album with a different singer under the name Champion.

Wow uriahheep108, guess your head would explode if you youtubed "Wizard" and saw Uriah Heeps album cover. (so on second thought, go ahead and LOOK). FYI - Religious fanatacism is darkness...and has no place here. I am a singer and love to hear singers who sing with authenticity. David seems to have natural greatness. Not many like him. And Uriah Heep brought me to here...just listened to Wizard. And this song drew me in and kept me there. THAT is what music is all about.

Another great talent with totally self destructive behavior. His persona became him and his ego probably wouldn't even permit him to seek help for his alcoholism. Alcoholism is insidious, and the sufferer must want to change to improve. Too many alcoholics never decide to change before their liver and other organs shut down.
