Getting her done looks like Andrew. Quick tip from a old trim guy, if you didn't already know, try wetting your finger when spreading caulk. Makes a clean seam and less mess on your fingers. I use a wet paper towel and dab my fingers on it. The comercial window install would be nice! I'm sure it's sturdier than residential with weather and wind pressure resistance. Anyway, it's all coming together. Been very cool watching it all come together!

The hood vent also sucks all the steam that boiling anything produces. With a hood vent that will also settle on your walls and overtime add stew/soup/whatever smell and coloration to your kitchen. My current landlord is a corporation. They inspect once a year. When their inspector asked why was there a discoloration on the kitchen ceiling, I turned the hood vent on and said, "why did whatever morons your company paid to build this kitchen not vent the hood to the outside and instead it points right there?"

I’ve done some fixed windows by using exterior door casing on all four sides. Get your glass company to make the glass unit and you use adhesive caulk to seal it in and then use wood trim on the inside to hold the glass securely

I'm looking forward to all of the final inspections before spray foaming the insulation. The house is really coming along. I'm so glad you are going with the Hardy Board siding. Our house was built in 1992, and the builder used regular siding. Now, after 30 years, it has rotted completely. We just had it all removed and new Hardy Board siding installed. It was very expensive.

LMAO!!! "Here's.....Johnny!" Question: what if you had plexi glass put up in those areas for temp purposes? We had that done on our extension build, it was cheaper to have that tacked in, then waiting "half a year" -- yes it might not be as pretty, but, if your trying to save dollars...might look into that route...and when the new glass arrives, then all you gotta do is swap out the plexiglass...just a thought...good work so far....

. Hi, Re the gas, is there such a thing as an in line tap where one can use a portable tank in a pinch? Like a bypass valve from the big tank to a small one, that way if you run out then obviously you will have a backup. Otherwise the alternative is to always pay for partial fills assuming there is a separate fee for delivery before calculating the amount of gas purchased? just a thought. Or can a second fill value be installed directly on the big tank where one could add gas from a portable tank? I guess this would hinge on whether or not you own the tank did you buy it or lease it how does it work? Or as an alternative maybe you can somehow justify them installing it near the water heater since you do in fact own that, assuming it would feed the entire system and not just the heater. No Doubt they will initially give you a knee-jerk reply of hell no you can't do that we won't support that that doesn't meet code but the reality is you own the house and the supply lines, but unless they can point to something specific in the UPC or their contract preventing it then it is your business and not theirs. Otherwise it would be like the power company saying you are not allowed to install solar I would just not want to be enslaved by them or at their Mercy to supply the house you own on the land you own I guess it is the libertarian in me. Good luck 👍
@TKCL
@TKCL 3 жыл бұрын
No high pressure tank (portable) to low pressure house that I am aware of. I've never once in my life ran out. You get on a 60 or 120 delivery route and they top your tank off for just the price of the gas. I also have a will call in the contract and I can get guaranteed delivery in 48 hours or less. The tank also has a pressure gauge I can watch.
@jp34604
@jp34604 3 жыл бұрын
@@TKCL . Well that just means the delivery cost is included in the per pound price, so then the gas should be less expensive on the 120 day cycle versus the 60 day cycle, if not then I suggest you request they come every 60 days , even if you don't need it until they offer you something in return. Btw don't forget a leak detection alarm ... "Propane vapors are heavier than air. propane will accumulate in low-lying areas such as basement, crawl spaces and ditches" B07ZXMF5TH B07FSVCSSL Cheers 🍻

Ok on a roll here, noticed you did not dig a ditch between the house and the shop or barn for any network connectivity. So in lieu of that a pair of... B081VRFK62 maybe in order but in order to implement them, and This is the point, you will need another cat6 run to that corner of the house for it, (and another for a camera) while it is still SO easy, and while you're at it the other corner facing the driveway for a camera and an access point, a couple of runs in each outside corner is so cheap and easy now ... last chance, you'll be sorry!!! 😀😃😄🤣🤣🤣
