What Jamie has done with the brother-in-law these past couple of years is absolutely amazing. He has taken a budget built racer car that was bit of an ugly duckling and has overtime turned it into a sharp looking race car that is a monster on the track. Brent definitely has what it takes. In a well matched drag race where everyone has super fast cars like that all it takes is one hesitation or late gear shit. Heck, being 0.05 slower on start is enough when they're super fast to completely lose at all. Brent definitely can win.

18:00: I see stuff like this, and it makes me wonder what Brent Rau and his RWD Eclipse from the early 2000's could do with modern technology. With a cast iron block and simple powerglide it ran 6.80's with a ton of added weight due to class rules on turbo sizes. I wonder what Mr. Rau could do with this setup. Liberty Trans, billet block, modern turbo and tuning technology.

Come with the territory of going fast
@Kmkboyz153 ай бұрын
@@Jordybuilt well sometimes ego needs to be put aside and knowledge to be expanded. There is some serious k series running multiple passes with just basic maintenance. They are either full motor swapping or going wild goose chase looking for an issue every pass. If you can't go one whole event just doing basic maintenance, with over 40k+ put into a car then there's a problem. But don't show up and waste event time if you are just going to fix a race car with the same part that just failed on the pass before. 🤦
@fat_lemon3 ай бұрын
@@Kmkboyz15 get a 1500 whp k series on the track and prove what you just said 😅 that's infortunate to wrench between rounds, but for real at that level it's part of the game. look at speed factory how many broken parts they had to acheive what they do. from time to time they post pictures of it and it's impressive! most important is to learn from possible mistakes and never give up ;)

@auke10313 ай бұрын
Hey Brent/Jamie: If you want to save some time doing motor swaps or major service at racetracks, try making a lifting bracket or chain that bolts to the head or valvecover bolts or whatever works for the particular situation, and use a 7 foot long bar to lift the engine out of the bay with just 2-4 guys on the bar! One guy under the car to pull the mount bolts, and YOINK! right out of the bay, and onto the table! It'll take longer to put the hood hinges on/off than to yank the engine that way! You'll save all that time messing around with floor jacks and wiggling. you could probably even use tall jackstands on the bar beside the car on both sides, if it needs to dangle in the bay for any amount of time.

Hearing Jamie say that this was the “tried and true block we had laying around” knowing the outcome of this event is kind of a gut punch.
