Thanks Simon....there are in fact two cockers working and both have their good points and a few bad points as well but most importantly I enjoy my time with them!

You had some balls on that last retrieve! Not sure I'd trust my cocker at that distance! Nice work.

Thanks Allan...I was really pleased with it especially as he hadn't got a good mark on it. Trouble is the next time it could all go horribly wrong!

Just wonderful. This should be compulsory viewing for anyone who wants to express an opinion about shooting.

Thanks John...I try and take out "non shooters" with me on occasions so they can be educated and to show that shooting is not all about big bags and tweeds!
@MrEMrC11 жыл бұрын
Nick Ridley Absolutely right! We have taken out some non shooters to, but a bother great thing is arranging a trip for a gamekeeper into schools; holding a chick and hearing the keeper's story remains in children's heads. I was also asked to show some scouts how to prepare pheasants - a very willing audience!

excellent!!! does ur new dog look promising? have a question for u, do u have trouble finding property to hunt? or is r the land owners welcoming to you guys hunting? and do they require a fee? Mat, Oregon USA
@Pettycordgundogs7 жыл бұрын
Mat Thompson Hi Matt, we always pay a fee sometimes it is per bird sometimes it is for the day. We have quite a good name for our dogs now so we are finding it a bit easier to find places to shoot over our dogs. I am really hopeful that "Ted" my new dog will come up to my expectations you can see how his training has been coming on in the "Ted Cams" on my channel. Thanks for your interest and hopefully we will be posting new videos very soon. Cheers Nick

Nick Ridley very nice!!!! I'm just so amazed at the energy and birdiness of those cockers. and they look nothing like the cockers in America, I think the hunting has been bred out of them and sadly they r now just pets. aside from the simple pleasure of u gentleman having ur rough shoots, it's enjoyable to watch becuz everything here is a rough shoot for us.

Kellyrippaa thanks for your kind comments, with regards to your bitch getting ahead of you I would suggest you make sure she is good on the recall / turn whistle and don't let her get more than about 10 to 15 yards either side or in front of you. You have to be consistent with your commands, may I also suggest you try and get a session with a pro trainer and they will be able to give you some 1-2-1 advice. Hope this helps Cheers Nick

Awesome video. I could only dream of being able to do something like this. Got no chance due to having seizures. Meeting a trainer Tuesday tho to train my lab bitch so I can get out and do some picking up
