Week of Variety(DEE) Vlogs ~ Episode 26: "Rough Week for All" Caregiver to my Mom who had an upcoming colonoscopy procedure was a lot to deal with on EVERY level. My week began great, then turned into some kind bad accident, after accident kind of thing. Weird. You'll see what I mean when you watch this week's episode. Let's hope the sage works! and I'll catch you up next week! ;0) For now, it's kicking this rough week out the door, outta the house, and moving on.

Thank you so much! Our family sends us sage and such for cleansing. I actually cleansed our home and we all slept great for the first time last night!! Thank goodness....I was running on empty.

Ohh girl.... my heart is breaking for you right now.... you need some sleep....a stiff drink for you and hubby......and another pair of hands to assist with Queen G. Knee injuries SUCK! I fell last spring on my three year old knee replacement and I saw ⭐️ s for sure!! I feel your agony on the whole colonoscopy crap.....uhhh...situation. Lol.... Had mine done a year ago and they found polyps a little larger than what they would’ve liked to of seen. So now I have to do it every three years. Oh the joy...NOT!!! Please give Your mom a hug for us all....and you n hubby go have that drink! 🍸🍻🥂

Honey your life sounds like mine . My husband had a severe stroke just under 5 years ago. I,m also sleep sleep deprived. I have caregivers twice a week for 3 hours. I,m 63 and looking after him on my own as to have carers in everyday really disrupts things. He spent 6 weeks in hospital in March with an infection in the discs of his spine. I spent 8 hrs a day there and things were so serious when I got home I couldn't sleep with the stress. To get him out of hospital I had to agree to caregivers 4 times a day. We had them for just over a month . I now shower and toilet him on my own. We have a hoist and all the other necessary equipment. I find showering him easier than bed baths as he finds it too painful to be rolled from side to side. I have been through the colonoscopy thing with him where his bowel wasn't completely empty. So I completely understand where you are coming from. I, m so fortunate to still have him with me but I hate to see him in so much pain. He has to cope with painful spasms as well as neuropathic pain. We hope to take a holiday soon but as you know a lot of planning is involved when you have someone disabled. I've seen your videos when you take your mom. As you say we just keep going forward. I,m also blessed with good friends . So important. REALLY ENJOYING YOUR VLOGS. Margaret, first of all hugs to you!!! I am so glad you had found my channel and enjoy our vlogs. Yes, sounds like we are living the same scenario. A new life, a new way of our every day. I hope your husband is over his infection. That's the worse. I swear I lived in so many facilities along there with my mom by my side sometimes, as it feels some days. So glad you got some help with caregivers. I hope you do take your holiday soon. It is a lot of planning, and preparation. But, the benefits of getting out to new scenery and routine is welcoming for a short time. Keep me posted on how it's going. prayers and strength Margaret.

Sorry to hear you had a bad week. It must be hard to smile like you do. I know it must be very hard for you and Jay. Have you tried giving your Mom melatonin at bedtime. It is over the counter but helps me a lot. Just an idea as you need your sleep too. You and Jay must be ready for another vacation,lol. Stay strong and hope you all have a better week.

I bought some melatonin. Weird thing, was last night we both slept HARD. So if she has some off sleeping this week I may have to resort to giving her a pill and see. It is very difficult in what we do every day. But, Jay and I know we have each other and we keep each other up and somehow find humor in the end. We're good, catching up on sleep last night and today really helped.

Those prep liquids are horrible. Caroline had tears with it. A close second was the bottle of barium she had to drink. It brought tears as well. Hope you are having a better week now.

It's a better week!! YAY! Yes those prep liquids are the worse. I'm still going to decline the testing if now she's feeling completely regular and fine. We will see. The care and understanding of these procedures for ones with disability are just not found.

I have to start colonoscopies at 30 because my mother passed away from colon cancer at 54. Not fun! Sorry you had a rough week. Hopefully it starts to look up from here!

Dee, sorry you had a "crappy" week, but better things are to come. Hope Jay's arm feels better. No Flip-flops on the stairs...thank God y'all are okay. Hope Queen G is doing better with her therapy. Yes, my week started off great with my girlfriends and then I don't know what happened lol!!! It went to crap! ...like literally LOL! Just kidding...we've come up with a few of those jokes to keep us sane around here. Mom is doing better, Jay's arm is feeling a bit better, and my knee is finally on the mend. Whew.

They can give her the prep through an NG tube inpatient. Maybe home health can do that as well. The solutions are salty and not easy to chug.

I asked them to do this procedure while she was in the hospital. They said no, do it as outpatient. Well, if they really persist, they can admit her next time. It was WAY too much for her. Poor mom. But, she's in a better mood now.

Hi Dee. Isn’t that what always happens, one thing happening after another creating a domino effect. I hope all goes well with your mom’s procedure. Drinking that solution isn’t that bad but it ‘s going to 🚽 is not so nice. Your poor mom though had a real tough time getting it down.
