I think the teaser things are showing that youtube golf is starting to take itself way to serious, the reason youtube golf does so well is the connection with the viewers, it is now getting to the point where it is turning into the same thing as broadcast tv..

Are you talking in relation to his round at Sawgrass? That's not sneak peaks to build tension it's literally because they have a schedule to release the video and don't want to ruin it for the viewer. You're not wrong on the whole, though, Ricks taking all the piss with his bullshit at the minute.

Would love a round of golf, meet the team and enjoy the same banter and laughs your see come across in the videos/podcasts. And it doesn't have to be £1,000 a round lol

I'm vacillating about spending over £50 for a round at a fancyish course. £100 would be a no from me. There's no golf course in the world worth $1k for a mid-handicapper. It would be wasted beyond mere bragging rights.

Membership for seniors at the club I belong to is about $800 per year - unlimited golf M-F cart included. Its an ok course. Whistling straits is about an hour away and I can almost play 2 rounds for that same money.

The price is stupid, it is a great course and if you are doing a once in a lifetime event kinda thing, that is ok. They host so many corporate events they can bump up the price for those folks and make plenty of money. Sawgrass is a fun round if you go to enjoy it, it can be a tough trip if the wind really blows. I have played it a handful of times and every round was a little different, but that closing stretch of 16,17 and 18 is a wild one.

I found myself searching how you book/ play Ardfin on the Isle of Jurra yesterday. £1,600 per day to play (you have to stay the night too). Smashes the courses the lads discussed out of the water.

I cap out at £100 anything over is a no unless its going to super special. I played 27.50 for a round last Sunday one of the most enjoyable rounds I've had for years.

How about Ardfin in the UK for most expensive courses. On Jura so not factoring in travel costs, staying over in the resort it works out at about £2100 for an overnight stay and round of golf (£550 per person green fee)....

There’s a course in Oakville, Ontario, Canada that I’ve been wanting to play. It’s called Glen Abbey. Green fees are $240 for the 18 with a cart. I no longer live local so I’d have to get an air bnb or hotel on top of that. Not to mention the normal gas and food expenses. It’s not on the Sawgrass level for pricing but still not a cheap place. Also, I’d feel weird playing a course of that level as a 30 handicap😅😂 I was a huge Tiger fan as most of us are and when I was young I wanted to play there because I saw Tiger play there on TV. I feel like I owe a round there to my younger self lol

Finally played a couple years ago, it's not really worth it imo. Its a nice enough course and there's that 1 hole you can see the bunker Tiger hit from, but otherwise it's just a nicer course, nothing super special. (I am probably unofficially 10-15 hcp). I would rather spend my money and time at other places around.... And actually for less. It's only that price because of the expensive real estate in Oakville, and that claim to history. I think we got it on some deal to play it and it was still expensive.

@ I appreciate the reply, David!! I was hoping that somebody local would reply to my comment! I was born and raised in Cambridge and always remember hearing my uncle talk about Glen. He shares the same opinion as you. Great course with some iconic shots and moments, but definitely overpriced.

@ honestly there isn’t many that would fall under the amazing category lol. I think the nicest course would have been Whistle Bear (don’t quote me) and it was outside of the city. There was a members only course by the hospital my aunt played as a guest. She didn’t understand the hype. Said it wasn’t anything special. Just really well maintained.
