This really worked well for us. Went into a tyre place this Monday in Chester to get tracking done after overhauling steering components but after just 1 minute work on their laser equipment (did they buy it from a junk yard?) it was worse than useless and dangerously pulling to the left so they put it back as was but still charged £35. I recon they just ajusted one side as guesswork and couldnt even read the figures from Haynes manual or Bently saying dont understand these figures???? Anyway saw this video and followed the proceedure buying a second spirit level and making 2 swivel plates out of plate steel sandwich with copper grease between. Got the toe in to exactly zero ie neutral then ajusted each side to +1-1.5 mm giving about +2-3 mm toe in in total. Took it out today on dry roads and it was fantastic. No pulling to the left and on the crown of the road with hands off the steering wheel it breaked in a dead straight line. The steering feels light and sensitive and back to almost better than normal, and with the new CVJs did full left and right hand turns with no knocking so again if you want a job doing well do it yourself so thanks for this video it was a great help and worth your effort and time😀

Thanks, great work sorting it out 👌. It's a shame so many places don't know how to use their own equipment 🙄. Thanks again. Cheers Larcs 👍

Cheers Lark, Really appreciate this simple 'get you on the road' set up. I'll be following along on what you done tomorrow after my 'full' underside front restoration. (she's lovely under there now! :)) ) Again, Cheers! :)

I’d pop those upper control arm bushings too - mine were completely disintegrated.

It was pretty good, I can't remember exactly as it was quite a while ago. 👍

did you have to adjust the radius arms at all?? if so, how did you know? Before or after it was back on the ground?
@LarcsWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
I just measured it before and after. Still haven't had a proper alignment done yet 😲. Must do that, thanks, I forgot all about it👍.

Surely to set the camber you should ensure wheel centers are at the same height? Then measure camber angle How level is your floor?

Yep, checked the metal pads were level before I started. Cheers Larcs
