Sad to see you out but I will say you and everyone involved in the tourney have done a fantastic job especially on the settings. I found it’s been a nice variety and you can definitely feel the maps getting tougher

Oh man something like this happens a bunch in practice so I hope it doesn't happen in my round. But you did everything you could. Also thanks for explaining everything in such detail, your thoughts behind every move, really helps that your and Petes rounds are before mine :P Still think the passive strat, waiting to get fed and hope no one suicides you is the best though, at least for me. Fog makes me so insecure about kills ^^

gg. It was interesting to see the game of your POV and im sorry that you wont make it. As orange I hope to succeed into the next round with my 105 points. to explain my play: It was my goal to get sth like 2nd with 1 bounty because I was pretty confidend that that would mean my qualification. I should have probably gone for the white or blue kill earlier but I wrongfully thought it might be to risky. The reason why im ranked as a beginner is because I took a long break and now only play in the tournament without exception. I look forward playing against you in Season 2 :) I`ll upload my POV soon

Tough game man. But still a great video, thanks for the tips throughout the video. My R8 is this evening so this video was clutch. This is the one challenge I have with fog prog is you can play really well and make no mistakes but someone else can make a mistake that ends your game too. Feels kinda out of your control

These settings are brutal and beautiful. Luck is part of the game when you have so many other players still alive on the board and things didn’t go your way this time. GGs man you played great and if you had a little bit more luck you would have cleaned up. With you and Pete out, who should we be watching as content creator that is still in the KPO?

So question. Are these settings too luck based? I mean, the skill ceiling for this round is immensely high. But I feel because it is so high people will just fail kills, and it is better to be after the failed kill in the turn order and sweep everything afterward.

@@Kylted I get his argument - if every player meets the skill req, then the settings are skill based, but if one player doesn't meet the skill req then they fail, and the player after them wins regardless, making it luck based on turn order

I mean Kylted himself said “the game is dictated by mistakes, that’s what these settings do.” Obviously higher-skilled players will do better on average, but whenever mistakes play such a huge roll, turn order and card luck will likely be decisive in many games.

@@Nighthawk9101I feel like there’s luck involved in every game of risk, especially so in progressive. Your spawn, turn order, cards, opponents skill level/mistakes, can all determine whether you win or lose. I see what you’re saying but I don’t think there’s any better alternatives.

28:00 What was your thought process on the taking purple right here? Orange had just previously given you access to the only spot on the bottom that you didn’t have information for purple and you could already see 40 of purple giving a high degree of confidence that any unseen stack was approx 5 troops. Completely a hindsight evaluation of the position but wondering your thoughts on whether that would have been a play with an acceptable amount of risk in the kill.

28 troops to deploy.. if you add the troops I need to get all those 4 stacks to 100% rolls I don't have enough, and then I would also need some more troops to add to kill whatever might be below me that I finally have access to see

Gg I was purple, I was lucky they should of gone for blue or waited till you had 4 cards atleast. I disconnected that round I tried to kill blue. I’m happy with how I played but looking back I could of got that other kill too. Also really enjoyed this tournament, my first one hopefully I can build on this. The settings have been great but they have been new to me.

My r8 went very similar. 2 stacks of mine got hit then stopped which was very fishy, hopefully tho because all my other games have gone well ill maybe have enough to still qualify. I was pissed off tho. Legit no reason why he would have done that

Why was it so bad? Missed 1 spot, almost an epic wipe of the board at that trade

The amount of troops of everyone he had to go through with no knowledge of my positions because he had very little vision... he ended up being very close but it cost him everything and even if he succeeded he would have died before his next turn

Even with the kill, cards were bad. He would not have set in turn, would have died next anyway.

@@Math2Law He also died for 1 card because he expended everything he had to try to kill me. So even if he succeeds, he then has 4 cards and dies for sure because everyone saw him suicide every single one of his stacks

I feel like you had the best read on the map, you were playing for vision while it seemed like some others played in stacks. I feel like this as innocent as it was, just for a card and vision 33:32 white decided he saw enough and this was his chance. I like your reaction tho, it sucked, not a bright play and killed your tourney right there, but you know it’s part of the game, could have happened to anyone else.

@@Kylted I agree. But I think you and Pete are in a unique place to explain the mistake in depth without rage quitting on them. I truly think the ability of the average player has gone down as they watch more content because they want to play this the content makers, but don’t have the ability yet!
