Pete - thank you so much for creating this community. Had my round 1 game last night. Finished 3rd with no kills in an 1 hr long game. Couldn’t believe the nerves I felt trying to make the best moves & not feeding any kills to others. Likely could have played it better to get a kill or better finish, but I had so much fun regardless. Bless you for your work

My R1 was the exact opposite of this game: someone early slam for a kill in Aus but fails, gifts three kills and 9 cards to the Africa player who feeds the EU position to me (NA position), was 16 minutes. Gj on this round and gl in the future!

What was the thought process behind not ever moving your 4 out of Aus? Orange seemed pretty friendly at the start, and I thought that was your plan, but it never materialized. Also curious why the card skip on fixed. Really fun video, catching up on the KPO finally

40:20 aren't all bounties negative in fixed? You at most get 5 cards that are no more than 17 troops

Fixed is the exact opposite of progressive in this aspect. Kills are pretty much only cost effective before the first trade, instead of after. It always depends on the map as well of course, the larger the bonuses the harder for kills to be profitable.

Players earn bounties independantly of other players. The first bounty YOU earn is 3 then 3 then 2 then 1 then 1 A perfect game is 22 pts.

I wonder if classic fixed is becoming less of a hook for people now that Europe caps is more popular. Although Europe caps r1 would stalemate way harder.

@@TheKillPeteStrategy I agree. That's why I play prog without caps and mostly in maps that bonus matter less. It takes more skill IMO than the annoying cap stacking in high level eurocaps games. And games are a lot less shorter.

This was such an interesting game. Because of the card skipping, both orange and black theoretically can out generate blue long term with big trades each time. And white is out generating pink too with big trades. What’s crazy game

Hey Pete. If you were pink (which you will probably say “if I was pink I wouldn’t be in that situation”) Would you start negotiating with the European player to hit the N.A. player. Would move the game forward and give bounty

I suppose your only hope would be to try to use the alliances. The other option is to threaten or even slow roll the stack you want to move though.

Hey Pete - why do you sometimes adjust the number of dice to roll? e.g. when clearing up black at the end? You always seem to move all the troops in anyway, so why adjust the roll like that?

By adjusting the slider, you set the number of troops to commit to the attack. Normally, you want it to be as few as possible for 100%. Maybe He pushed the slider to max as a dramatic move to end the game.

Pete, is there any validity to masking the CC's of risk in the tournament file? So people don't know know their being streamed to thousands of folks? Might prevent this card skipping and in some case good neighbors.. just a thought. You could be anything in the file and since there's so few CC's it wouldn't be hard for y'all to keep track.

I think hiding player identities is only acceptable if it's everyone. Otherwise there's major fairness problems to consider that don't get ironed out

35:35 is there anyway for black to communicate to blue: I feed you Pink, and we alliance in SA/Africa Then blue reciprocates by feeding white to Black They kindly split to +5/+5 or stay at respectable +7/+3 (black homies up for second/third place depending on Red/Orange)

Is this a feature of the KPO? Pete plays in every round. He cannot be eliminated. But if you are in a game with Pete, actually killing him comes with extra championship points. I don't know what, if anything, special happens to those Pete kills in any given game, given that Pete's not actually allowed to win his own tournament.

I didn't like my open and I wanted to make sure that all of the stacks I had in the Europe sphere remained untouched. Taking a card here seemed less worth the risk of hitting a stack and getting bad dice.

No doubt Pete played well, but it reminded me of a fake martial arts video where the master waves his hands and the students start diving about the floor. The other players let Pete get away with murder the whole game, never broke him, never teamed on him despite him leading. He got his hands dirty once with white and that was it. As i say Pete played well, but the others looked like they played a bit too deferentially.

It's a real thing. Sometimes it works the opposite way as well. I get treated favourably, I get targeted. It is the way the game is ultimately. I could compete in disguise but we banned alts in tournaments for a reason. That's a whole different fairness problem

Do you think star power in your own tournament takes away from the validity of your result? e.g. white surrendering Europe for no conceivable gain. You could argue it negatively affects you, but curious for your thoughts.

The fairness question is real. People treat me favourably or unfavourably because of that 'star power' so it goes both ways. I could play in disguise but we banned alts in tournaments because they create other types of fairness issues.

Question, you say you can't win your own tournament, why are you in it? You change the game purely by being in it and make games progress unnaturally. A different player may not have ended white which could have changed the outcome of the game.

This is an incredibly boring way to play Risk. I much prefer faster pace games where you actively try an prevent your opponents from getting bonuses. If you skipped watching people trade kills, and fortify a death stack, the videos would be about 1/10th as long.
