The experts would say it's too dry on top and too wet at the bottom, I've heard Tom Kilcer describe it as feet in the freezer head in the oven yet being the correct average temperature. Though for what you're doing with it and the fact you need the oats I can't see what else you could do better without losing the oats. So good job in my book Ben.

Looks like you got peas and oats figured out. Only thing I do different is rake 2 windrows together the night before as then baling goes way faster. Aslo I assume you are thinking 150 pounds of ams per acre not 150 units of sulfur? Have you tried adding in some boron? Anyways keep up the awesome videos. Think you will be very happy with the afx 469.

Been running jd balers for years..... On the 4x6 baler the windrow needs to be 4ft wide ....I run a Deere 4 x 6 round baler maximum pressure in green.... Try it... should make a perfect square shoulder bale..

if you sell your rolls what do you do for pricing. i find some high quality Alfalfa for sale - same size rolls and weight and then add 30 percent for pricing. The dairy farms go after the peas (Cow candy) they have never complained about the price. i am going to increase the price per roll another 15 percent this year.

Looks like you could lay out the windrows more yet. Silage the tighter the better. A moisture tester is a must in my opinion I use 2 one on baler and one hand held. I know on the older deere baler's you would set them at least 2 to 3 o clock if you wanted a bale with weight. I learned the hard way year's back to buy bales by the weight not by the bale.

Do you have any intentions to spraying the grasses out of that field. If it’s pure stand of alfalfa anyhow. I know since we started spraying grasses out the stand has stayed pure much longer
