Round Cigar ash tray made with only a table saw

Thanks to Izzy Swan and many others for the inspiration. This was a Fun quick project and I learned a lot. I will make several improvements on the next one.

Great work it looks awesome. I do think you should have stopped turning at about 6:40 maybe. You would have had a more secure place for your cigar to rest.

Wow! Nice! You're a clever li'l beaver. How did the minwax hold up to the heat of the cigar?

Ive been using the ashtray for four years now and haven't even applied a second coat. and with a quick wipe down it looks nearly new. there are areas in the bottom where the hot ash of the cigar has discolored but not burned the bottom but that's it. I let the cigars burn out on the edge and don't twist them out.

Not trying to troll, but it seems like a bad idea to have an ash tray made of wood. Have you left a cigar burning in it to see if it ignites?
