A true kick ass song for sure--no lame assed "pop goes the country" bullshit that they play on the commercial country radio stations----Saw RWH last fall at the St. Augustine Ampitheater---he did a kick ass show! To those who say that they are Mississippi River Rats--I am an Ohio River, river rat----I first went on that river before I could walk and boated it on and off for years----till just a few years ago----but I am not done with that river and the rest of the rivers connected with it and the Mighty Mississip….even though for now----the St. Johns and the Ock are "my rivers" being back down here in Florida again....I was on the seas for pretty much four years back when I was in the Coast Guard-----but I always found myself missing rivers---to me----something special about them. SO GREAT. What would this genre be considered? Blues, rugged country? some form of bluegrass? LOVE it.
@Kelsie1548 жыл бұрын
Sounds like Old-Time with bluegrass and blues influences.

Madison Olinger it's bluegrass with blues or "blues-grass". I'm pretty loose with genres so I just call it bluegrass but if you want to get technical it's blues-grass

I posted this comment on another song by the SteelDrivers but it applies even more so on this song... "Many bluegrass bands should stick to instrumentals, others should stick to their stills. SteelDrivers aren't in either of those classes. Quality instrumentals, strong vocals and lyrics that come from the roots of bluegrass. Great stuff all the way through." I better be careful though as I could post this on quite a few of their songs.
