It's really nice to listen to these two Hermetica experts Wouter and Justin. Thank you.

@1:02:37 Dr. Hanegraaff recommends a new English translation of the Corpus Hermetica. But I can’t make out the name of the translator. Please help!?
@EmbassyoftheFreeMind Жыл бұрын
We cannot answer for Wouter, but most scholars agree that the current best translation is the one by Brian Copenhaver, which is highly documented. However, Wouter points out that translation problems lead to words like “nous” which is a spiritual faculty, being translated as “mind,” essentially because there is no equivalent English word. New translations are currently in the works, but are not yet published. Stay tuned for new developments on this!

. Don't you find it weird that Esoterica and mods now censor people and won't fix it?
@6Sparx9 Жыл бұрын
@@unbroken1010 The mods apparently have the nous, the higher understanding that allows them to decide what should and should not be said 😅
@unbroken1010 Жыл бұрын
@@6Sparx9 the mods should never exist. Esoterica stated he liked free speech and we were all well behaved. Then one mentally deficit one seems have went Rogue and don't care. That is hypocritical

Walter has a very positive view of hermetica, world affirming bringing the light into the world, non dualistic - this is odd because there are some books in the CH which are almost Manichaen is distinguishing the above the unseen unchangeable from the below, the wickedness of the body and maleable forms - is this more positive take on Hermetica a result perhaps of Christian influence, a more Renaissance Hermetica rather than the Hermetica that co-existed along with the Gnostics?
