Nice version, Mayer is a great guitarist influenced by Hendrix, I think he knew how to keep up with today's music industry behavior to succes commercially, and that fame he gained with the pop, permitted him to do all these awesome tributes, his version of wait until tomorrow with john mayer trio is sick!, obviously is never objective to compare it with Hendrix, because he is the actual creator of the songs, but I think that this kind of tributes that a "pop star" can give to Jimis music is very important for the usual listeners of the commercial world, It could even mean a change in today's popular music. I bet there's a lot of people that has discovered Hendrix's music through John Mayer.

You naysayers ever consider the idea that this may be John's way of showing respect and appreciation to an extremely influential artist who may have meant a lot to him? Every artist has their own style otherwise music wouldn't be the multi-billion dollar industry that it is today. Hendrix was well... Hendrix and nobody can take that from him. Just as Hendrix put his heart and soul into this song so did John. You know you did something right in your career when other skilled artists want to embellish on your creation. I personally would like to continue seeing this as time goes by to keep Hendrix's soul carried on. And it probably will.
