Did you know that during communism in Bulgaria there was a gated resort on the Black sea coast that was opened for Westerners only! It wasn't like the country's other resorts where Germans and Scandinavians were enjoying their time with the locals and other Eastern Europeans. Roussalka or Mermaid was a French-Belgian enclave, isolated by the outside world and run by Club Mediteranee. Kamen Berg, a grandchild of local employees, is telling his story, spending time in the West, while growing up in a bankrupt communist dictatorship. He will take you around in the resort which still exists but is a shadow of its former self. How it felt to dine on the all-inclusive tables or buy something from the local Corecom (Beryozka/Pewex/Tuzex), a hard-currency store during communism. Don't miss this one, especially if you have been in Roussalka in the 80's!
