There are almost 100 Rousseau videos since the beginning of the channel and only ONE of them is Mozart! It's time to change that! Starting with something almost every pianist has played at least once in their life, the 1st Mvt of his 16th Piano Sonata. Mozart himself wrote and considered the entire sonata "for beginners", and it often serves as as a way for pianists who are just starting out to learn a piece of a longer length. It holds a dear place in many pianists hearts as one of the most recognizable pieces from their youth. Hope your Monday is great ♥

I think when Mozart called it "a piece for beginners" he was basing it on himself. Remember, we are talking about a musician that learned the piano when he was very little, and he composed his first song when he was 5! I am a teen pianist that is starting Level 8 RCM piano, and I am just starting to learn this song. Thanks for this video!

I learned this when I was about 7 or 8 years old🥹I am 22 years old now and still don’t know how to read sheet music. I learned it by ear and just double checking with people that know how to read sheet music to triple check that I played it right. But I play piano solely by ear 👂🏽🎹🥹 There’s so much nostalgia and memories associated with this song. It is such a beautiful melody and to this day is still one of my favorite tunes. I still play it to this day, along with many more tunes other songs. I love all types of music and instrumentals like interstellar, Narnia, lion king’s this land, Balto soundtracks, or any Hanz Zimmer music honestly. I love it all🥹piano, music, melody, harmony, symphony is my outlet and soothes my soul, playing piano will remain in me forever 🥹🎹I love music. Even though I will probably never learn how to read notes or sheet music, I will always play piano and sing in harmony. Thankful to and grateful that God gave me such gift like this😭🥹🤍

So far one of the best interpretations I've heard... For some reason many pianists tend to play this at a very high speed, and I get that it's an "allegro", but a musician when performing a piece should be aware of when it was composed, and at the time when Mozart came around, the allegro was interpreted a little slower compared to now. I appreciate you got that pretty accurate.

@@switchlaserflip9243 thank god, that you mentioned that. Then I have a change to learn it.
@math91722 жыл бұрын
To each its own I guess, because in my opinion this is the worst one I've heard. The interpretation is absurdly flat, when the piece is supposed to be floaty and lively. Even in sadder parts the sombre tone is kind of half-assed. Ofc when I say "the worst" I don't actually mean the worst because I've heard people properly butcher the piece because they're practicing or haven't mastered the piece yet. On a technical aspect this interpretation is nearly perfect. By "the worst" I meant the worst proper execution of the piece I've listened to, because I find this one highly boring and uninteresting.
@_akira_44102 жыл бұрын

True story - my dad was a gifted musician. Somewhere around my age of 5, he brought me to a music teacher for piano lessons in a small class of maybe 5 other kids. After about 10 weeks with this sullen teacher, I played by sight reading a simple two hand exercise. The piece wasn't something with a recognizable melody like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Mary Had a Little Lamb, but just an exercise. My recollection is that I got it right, pretty good for my age. When I finished, I looked up at that teacher, and he turned to the kid on my left and said "your turn". If he at least said "great job!", I might have stuck with it. Right at that moment (60 years ago), I decided I hated it and didn't want to go back. I told my dad and he said fine, don't go. I'm not sure but I think I may have wanted my dad to talk me into going or even making me go back. He said fine don't go and I thought "that was easy". I wonder what kind of pianist I would have become if I had an enthusiastic teacher.

Im a beginner and somehow (with no practice) I can do trills and scales really well like that. Now there is a part in the piece in the left hand that changes extremely quickly and is 2 different chords that is also really hard. But you can do it. Just practice scales and keep getting quicker. Youll make it one day though. And those who try will to.

It amazes me how fast you can play this. I'm in sixth grade and learned this as my second classical piece (after Für Elise) and can play at about 1/4 of your speed. I remember listening to this earlier and thinking 'Man, I could never hope to play this!' It did end up to be quite a process, including a couple fits of rage.... Hoping to move on to Rondo Alla Turca, and if it proves difficult, a piano arrangement of the Largo section - No. II - of Winter (Vivaldi). I've just reached/passed 1 year of learning. Slowed down a touch, your videos have been a big help & part of what drew me into piano. Thank you Rousseau!

Maybe you can start off with easier pieces before going to more difficult ones. That way when you go play them you'll be able to play with expressions and have a further understanding of music. Nonetheless what you've achieved is great and good luck!
@0ia8 ай бұрын
Awesome dude! Learning is fun. One guy replied "maybe start with easier pieces" and sure maybe, but taken too far, there's also a risk of too-easy which may possibly make the learning slower or un-fun! I wish I spent more of my childhood practicing because it's really cool to have that plastic malleable brain that learns more quickly. Being out of high school (and avoiding university so I can learn better than university teaches people), I still have a pretty young brain and have been practicing a lot of my favorite crafts (programming, drawing, music) to take advantage!

I suffered from infertility tried for so many years to get pregnant. I always prayed to god to please bless me with a child. I was watching a mother play with her son on tik tok one day I cried and screamed to God "God please give me a child!!!!!" that same day something in me told me to take a pregnancy test... it came back positive! I couldnt believe it I was in tears and in shock!I took more pregnancy tests and they all came back positive! A week after I found out I was pregnant I found a cross necklace a few steps away from where I worked at and I then knew it was really God all along and never left my side. I now have a 11 month healthy beautiful baby boy. He's turning 1 in a few days! ❤ God is good!

@@luna_adesquite8919 That's true, but I mean compared to the harder ones (like Pathetique Sonata mov.3), also I like that Mozart pieces seem to be made with the purpose of making you improve, since as it goes on it gets harder, adding more challenges.
