Hi I found your video because I wanted to show this to a friend of mine who is a motorbiking enthusiast. We frequently drive on this road to go to our family cottage in one of the nearby ZECs ( controlled exploitation zones ). I caught myself watching this entirely and began writing a comment that ended up way bigger than I thought lol probably because I can't wait to go back to our cottage. Here's some trivia for you and other people who might be curious or plan to venture in the area: 0:30 One of the entries to Zec Borgia. 0:40 You can seldom spot a moose on the right side here, it's a feeding/drinking zone. 0:50 The river to the left is the Rivière Bostonnais and is very good for fishing enthusiasts. 1:47 To the left side there's a man who has two businesses, one is a propane fridge repair business and the other is deer urine collecting ( he owns a bunch of deers, and you will often spot deer in this area because they will be attracted to them ). 2:04 If you take that bridge and then turn right you will follow the Bostonnais river more closely and end up in La Tuque. You will see some "hidden" houses/cottages along the way. I only used that road once out of curiosity a long long time ago. It can be helpful if route 155 is closed from there to La Tuque. 2:32 Be careful out there because some people are really reckless on this road. Glad the SQ reinforced their presence in the last few years. 3:06 The person to the left makes giant wooden ( I think ) sculptures. I'm not sure if it's still there but there used to be a giant chair, but you can see giant mushrooms. 3:22 The last ( green ) house to the right used to have a dragon as a chimney ( smoke would come out of its mouth ). The new owner took it down a bunch of years ago already. 3:54 Whoever owns the piece of land to the left really takes pride in maintaining it because the grass has been mowed and the area has been clean for decades. 4:26 The branch you took is relatively new. Not that long ago we all had to go through the city. 6:02 Entrance to La Tuque ( IMO they botched the entrance, it's not inviting, and overall it looks weird ) 7:15 Sheep farm 8:15 Once was stalled there and there's a house to the left, the couple living there at the time helped us ( this was before smartphones were a common thing ). 8:46 Moose spot 9:39 I once saw a huge car crash there. 10:00 Frequent deer crossing zone 11:19 You are very high in this area. The rapids down below can actually be deadly and only experts should venture in them! 12:28 Entrance to Grande Anse ( nothing to see there, just a few people living by the river, but it used to be a village before mergers ) 15:05 There used to be a little snack bar to the left about 25 years ago but it burned down. I have great memories of this place. 15:12 This is a very popular spot for people to stop. 16:07 Several decades ago this is where the asphalt road would actually stop, then it would be a gravel one. During fall or spring most people would go up that hill by driving on reverse with a rear wheel drive vehicle. It used to be straight but they vasty aleviated the climb by curving it. This involved massive construction work but it was 100% worth it. The road you see in this video is the result of this colossal rework of route 155 which happened about two decades ago now I think. 16:25 Outfitter ( Pourvoirie Club Hosanna ) 16:59 Before the rework this cliff wasn't cut like that, rocks would literally fall on the road. 17:22 This whole area is very moose active. 18:26 Deer area 18:41 There are now businesses to the right, you can fill up your tank, buy some goodies ( some dude bought all the stores in St Roch de Mékinac and shut them down, the residents had to drive either to La Tuque or Shawinigan ( Grand-Mère ) to stock up on basic necessities but recently some new people bought this particular piece of land and invested on it, so it's all good for the community ) 19:08 Very popular RV-ish camping grounds that expanded quite a lot in the recent years. 19:55 During summertime there's tons of boats in this area. Too much for my liking but it's quite a sight ( you can see sailboats still ) 20:00 (In?)famous spot for graffitis. If you recorded from the other side people would've seen them better. :P 20:17 When I was a kid some guy caught a record high muskellunge in this area, just by fishing by the side of the road. 20:21 I don't recommend going there for a pee break, it's always full of people lol 21:15 Village du Bûcheron ( also known as Musée du Bûcheron ). Great tourist spot with interesting antique stuff, very informative about how our ancestors used to live. 21:22 I highly recommend those two restaurants/snack bars. Plus it's a better place for the pee break than the earlier place IMO lol. 23:31 You can do a detour to the left and go through St-George and then back to Shawinigan by crossing the almost centenial bridge ( pont de Grand-Mère ), it will turn 100 in 2028. You can also go to Québec city by going that way as well. 23:59 People involved with the reconstruction of this bridge messed up and it has odd bumps in it. Literally a botched job. They have recently added massive beams to solidify it. The rest of the ride is less interesting until the pont Laviolette of course. Le Sieur de Laviolette was, according to the vast majority of historians, the founder of Trois-Rivières city.

If QC-155 is that busy in thanksgiving, imagine how it is on QC-175, the 4 lane double carriageway that directly links Québec City with the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region! Thanks for showing that part of the Province, and Merry Christmas!

Awesome drive! Well done on the video! Thanksgiving Monday traffic is always bad. I was in Ottawa over the long weekend this year and I was glad I came back Sunday. I looked at Google Maps the next day and the 401 was Orange and Red the whole way! It’s good to think ahead. Have a merry Christmas!

This is what traffic looks like on the roads coming from the Spanish Pyrenees on a skiing weekend. In some cases the police will shut down passing lanes with cones to avoid bottlenecks at the end of these. By the way the scenery is amazing. I can't stop being amazed by the fall colors as here in the Mediterranean decidous trees are rare.

Great drive! Did you know most Asian countries has all named expressways? Unlike US and Canada, all expressways in Asian countries are named with route number.

I don’t know why I continue to perceive provinces out to the east to be quite flat. The scenery out here would easily match a lot of the drives out in BC. Good drive!

@@AsphaltPlanet1 I need to really do some more research into the province, though there are definitely some drives along the St Lawrence that I have on my bucketlist.

@@xlbolt The areas that are flat are all around the St-Lawrence valley, with the exception of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. North of the river sits the Canadian Shield and the Laurentian Mountains, which makes this part of the Province... very mountainous! Then there's the northern portions of the Appalachian Hills, the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, the Gaspé Peninsula... The Western portions of Ontario (meaning everything north-west of the 401 corridor) is similarly mountainous.

@@dontgetlost4078 I just had an assumption the most of the scenery out there would be similar to the TCH in northern Ontario. I’ll look into the area more with your info. Thanks!
