Yup ! The meteorite impact has created an exception by fragilizing the earth's crust in the middle of the North American platform. Is it one of your favourite track among all those I've played in my road videos you mean ? Thanks for watching!

With over 200 small earthquakes occurring each year, the Charlevoix Seismic Zone is one of the most active seismic zones in Canada. Since 1663, five damaging earthquakes have occurred in the area, including a magnitude 7.3-7.9 event in 1663, a magnitude 7.0 event in 1791, a magnitude 6.0 event in 1860, a magnitude 6.5 event in 1870 and a magnitude 6.2 event in 1925. Because of these concerns, the Charlevoix Seismic Zone is considered to be a highly hazardous earthquake zone

Stunningly beautiful and somewhat wild and wildernessy in places. The first town's name really means The Landslides? Lol
@FreewayFranks6 жыл бұрын
It's indeed a beautiful place and it's only a short 1hr drive from my home (Québec City) and yes, in French, Les Éboulements means ''The landslides''. I don't think it's a coincidence that it was named like that because this place & its surroundings are built on some serious steep grades that may have caused landslides in the past! Thanks for stopping by.

In February 1663, a strong earthquake shook the Charlevoix region and triggered a large landslide down the slopes that characterize the hills of the area to the Saint Lawrence coast.

You are absolutely right and saltwater is starting at the east end of île d'Orléans near Québec City. Former name for La Malbaie was Murray Bay.
