Love the driving so far. I wish I could visit the Gaspe Peninsula one day. Thanks to your videos, I started making plans about visiting those places in the province of Quebec, including Montreal and the Gaspe Peninsula.

@@Diya6587 I've only passed by Philly on my way back home but never had a walk there. For the province of Québec, I'm biaised because I live there, but I think it's a unique place in North America. It speaks French and the landscapes are very similar to what can be found in parts of Sweden and even Norway. Our cities are 300 - 400 years old and have lots of history and personnality. I quite like it. My biggest down is how snowy and cold it gets in winter...

Tu as raison! Selon moi, la Gaspésie c'est la plus belle région du Québec. Mon grand-père est justement originaire de la belle ville de Carleton-sur-mer.

Je fait le roadtrip la semaine prochaine.Vendredie prochain précisément et je part de Montréal,je vais être seul.Avez vous des place a me conseillé ou bien des route.Je vais partir ver le sud en passant par Québec,tadoussac percé bai des chaleur etc.Je part avec ma voiture et ma tante de camping pour 12 jour environs merci de vos conseille

You may be lucky! There are still beautiful days along the coast in october but yes, you might get a couple of fall coastal storms along the way...Route 132 along the peninsula is a real Gem! Thanks for watching.

My family is from Barachois, in the Malbaie area of Gaspé. We made the trip from Montreal every year from when I was a baby. Now I make the trip every year from Ottawa. When I turn into the Mine Road at L' Anse Pleureuse, I know I'm 2 hours from my home. So happy you posted this 😘

@@FreewayFranks Yes I did. I skipped last year but, I hope to go back this summer. I miss the salty air brought by the constant wind. I would like to buy a 3 acres lot, not by the sea but from a mountain top where I can have the best view. I exactly know where too.

J'avoue que j'ai eu de la chance avec ce beau temps et cette mer calme ^^ Je peux t'assurer que cet endroit est parfois très réputé pour avoir un climat plutôt rude surtout en hiver ( qui se distingue pas tant par la température froide, mais plutôt par le vent et le blizzard ) ... au Québec également c'est rare d'avoir une vue dégagée comme ça voilà pourquoi j'ai cru bon filmer ce superbe tronçon. Il y aura d'ailleurs une 2ème partie éventuellement ^^ Merci d'avoir regardé !

The run from Matane to Percé has to be the best driving road in eastern Canada. The Cabot Trail is nice, but only has a few short stretches which match the grandeur of this 500+kms of nearly unbroken coastline, cliff/mountainside driving. The fact that so few people know if it makes it all the more special!

One of the best for sure ! I feel that the section I filmed is kind of a ''Hidden secret'' of eastern Canada. I still need to drive the Cabot trail and I am sure it's impressive and very nice, but this section of Route 132 has something special, with coves and rocky cliffs with that continuous view on the sea ! Cool ! I love Ottawa. My last time there was in 2010 but I still plan to film the 417 between say Hunt club rd to Kanata aswell as A5 southbound for its entire lenght. I hope the year 2017 will bring me there. Good luck for a future trip on Gaspé Peninsula. One never good borred by the amazing landscapes there!

I grew up there but have been away for years. Still miss my beloved home. You are so right...it is the longest and most beautiful unbroken coastline in Eastern Canada...pure and pristine as well. Pray that it stays that way forever. Miss all the lovely folks in Gaspesia (part of my own family lives at 'Land's End') Hoping with all my heart to be there soon.

Yes, it's one Heck of a drive! Probably on my top 3 in the Province! Surprisingly, this section of road is not super well known (I mean Canada's wide) While The Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia is!

It is a very nice place but rather remote. People there live from tourism, services and fishing, but their economy is ''fragile''.

Indeed ! It was unusually calm ! I've been extremely lucky with that sunny and quiet weather. Otherwise, that place can have a very rude weather for the rest of the year, very windy with stormy ocean and big waves. In the heart of winter, you often hear that there is a road closures for the part of the Gaspé Peninsula during a major snow storm. Usualy , peoples , and it is recommend to do so , also, peoples will rather drive on the other side of the road. It is bettter to do the coastal drive from West to East than from East to West . The driver , on a West-East trip will see much the sea than on a East-West drive since drivers always have a tendency to look out more on their left side than on the right side . This is valuable for every coastal drive : having the sea on the left side of the driver .

Pour la 138, effectivement c'est dans mes plans... par contre il y a beaucoup de beaux tronçons à filmer un peu partout en province et aussi chez nos voisins Américains. Disons que j'essaie de varier les endroits d'une vidéo à l'autre pour que ça ne sois pas redondant... N'hésites pas à t'abonner ! En passant... Il y a un an j'ai filmé la Route 138 dans Charlevoix, tu n'a qu'à aller voir ma liste de vidéo !

Great video, wondering if the route from Riviere Du Loup, to Mont Saint Pierre on route 132 is very similar or is it mostly two lanes.

It is very similar. It's a national road that is going through the villages most of the time with a few exceptions.

Last time I drove there, (2014 ?) highway 20 was nice and wide up to Mont-Joli then, the 132 is a narrow 2 lanes like this video.

It's always kind of surprised me that big Canadian cities didn't develop right along the east-coast like New York/Boston or even Vancouver on the west coast. Rather Montreal/Toronto are quite further inbound, whereas you'd think they'd be in places like this video. It doesn't seem logical to me based on European exploration patterns.

Thats why I've always thought Canada deserve a major Metro area of 1Million peoples in the Atlantic provinces.... and that would probably be Halifax. But they're just over 400k. So it's not going to happen soon...but otherwise, many old cities were founded on the atlantic coast in Canada, they were just not developped as much as those located inside of the Continent....just think about St-John and its oversized old town compared to its actual population size of only 120k

Despite the fact that Europeans had visited these areas to fish since around the mid- 1490's, the geography itself explains why it's not possible to build big cities in these areas. See the mountains on one side, and the ocean in the other? There's no room to grow into big cities like Montréal and Toronto, despite European exploration patterns. They explored, they established fishing communities, but the geography didn't allow to grow inland because it's all Appalachian mountains. And outward is the Gulf of the St-Laurent. I'm happy these villages remain as they were. Their beauty lies in what they are, and if they became big cities (which thankfully is geographically impossible) this would deprive us, and the inhabitants, of their charm and way of life.

Freeway Franks Gaspe, because it shares the exact same geology as Scotland as in both places are part of the Appalachians. Even though Scotland is on the island of Great Britain, Scotland broke off from Canada 5 billion years ago. But just compare they are the same, really even though the Atlantic Ocean separates them.
