I had the privilege of meeting Hugh's son (who lived in the camper out back) when I traveled 66 MANY years ago. He took my friend and me on a quick walk around the property and told us the stories. He even gave me some old postcards from "back in the day"! If I can find them, I'll send you some pictures of them. Thanks for allowing me to reminisce that amazing trip! Safe travels, Justin!

I love Buck Atom's. Such a cool place. Mary Beth is great! Might have to make a trip to that area today. Lots of cool shops right there, too. Decopolis, Josey Records, and of course, Ike's chili. Fun fact. The Tulsa Expo main building was the largest clear span (meaning no internal columns or supports) building in the world, and is still one of the largest. I hit the flea market there regularly.

When your video came up in my feed, first thought was I did not need another person to follow and watch. But it was about Route 66 and having driven some of it as a kid, I watched. I enjoyed and subscribed. Then slowly I found that we share a number of common things. RT 66 was easy. But I love old buildings and road side 'stuff'. I have a health issue that slows me down at times but I work through it. My Grandpa drove a 1924 Mack truck on US Route 60 in West Virginia, check it out....not a road for wimps(Lewisburg to Charleston). Now I find out we have a Mustang tie. I have 5 in the family with my 66 Mustang GT350 the oldest.....and owned since 1975!! Thanks for sharing!

Really cool spots! We missed the 66 Fest this year. 😞 The one thing you should NOT miss in Tulsa is the amazing amount of neon they have. Time your trip to spend the night in Tulsa and start at the 66 Gateway on the east side and go all the way to the 66 Gateway on the west. We have done it multiple times and they keep adding more. With 2026 approaching I expect even more new installs. Keep up the fun videos. Another tip for travel in Oklahoma is to stop at Braum's Ice Cream which is all over the state. Best ever!

AAA has invested so much into it and there's else nothing like it! Also, ++++ on the Route 66 Experience. Just get out there and enjoy it, don't worry about the folks that try to say you can only travel the road one way or the other. It's an amazing way to experience America!

The real Route 66 was the friends we made along the way... I'm from Tulsa but have lived in the UK for several years. I've got a seven year old obsessed with Route 66, Buck Atom and the Blue Whale. We're getting ready to go back home for a few weeks and she is thrilled to get to see Stella. Her favorite toy is Jessie the cowgirl from Toy Story who always has to tag along when we see Buck (and now Stella!). Once we had to make Jessie her own space helmet out of plastic bowls. I think I'm gonna show the kiddo this video before our trip.
