Can’t believe it’s been 7 years since traveling that part of 66 for me. Time is flying way too fast! As always great video man.

It's refreshing to see some of the other towns and sites on the Mother Road. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so old that the first few times I drove through Glenrio, it wasn't a ghost town.

John, this was a fun trip.. I didn't even know those towns existed.. That place in the out takes was interesting too. I gave up red meat back in 2000 because it didn't agree with me anymore. Back in March of 1979 my Mother and I went to California by car. On our way home we stopped at a motel in Amarillo TX for the night. The next morning we were up and heading home, at that time home was Prairie Village Ks. I drove all the way home and got home late but we made it. I kept thinking if you were going to find a go around and sure enough you did. Ha! Merry Christmas to you and your family. Happy trails to you and God bless.

Hey John, I live in Seattle so I don't get to the Great Plains very often, but I always enjoy your videos spotlighting a part of the country that doesn't always get a lot of notice. Since the end of the pandemic I've made a couple road trips that included stops in towns I never would have otherwise heard of but are well worth the trip. Keep up the great work!

I love how you can see forever in these places. I feel as though the vantage point given by the drone sort of "mitigates" the fact that many of these areas are now sprinkled with wind turbines. These outtakes were great! The 72-oz steak, though....🤢🤣 Safe travels and happy holidays! 🎄🥂🎉

I enjoyed this video! I lived in Dallas for 67 years ... I grew up there and worked there. Three years ago my husband Jorge, our Golden Retriever Buddy, and I moved to Querétaro, México. We love it here. Someday we'll move back to Texas ... most likely to the Hill Country. Texas will always be in my heart and soul. :-) Joseph Quillian

Interesting how the tall oil wells you used to see all over Texas are now being replaced with tall wind turbines.

You beat me to it, I was in Glenrio in November and will be putting it up on my channel. While not much is left it has enough to make for fun photography.

This was very interesting to come across. We live in Amarillo and have land in N San Ysidro, NM so make the drive often over the last 28 years. Before that, I went to school in ABQ and would drive from the Dallas area where my parents moved. There is so much history in this area from the days of the Wild West to Route 66. I remember in 1984-85 when the last bypass opened and the old road was decommissioned. My Grandfather just hated taking the old route through town..lol! He would tell us over and over!

I’m enjoying your Texas Panhandle tours or as I remember it, my ‘coming of age’ backyard. A lot of shaking my head and smiling as recall the stupid stuff and fond memories of people, friends and the places of my youth. BTW If you’re ever back in Clay County, KS, there’s a children’s cemetery NE of Oak Hill.

Stayed 3x in Adrian at the Midpoint RV park. Nice, quiet place to overnight. Perfectly named! Visited Adrian's gift shop. Love your videos. Gives us so much inspiration for rv travel.👍

One of these days I'll make a Route 66 trip and see these places for myself. I thought of you yesterday, I went to the ORU ladies basketball game, they were playing WSU. Great video.

Got here rather late today, but hopefully better late than never! And it was another great video, so interesting. We have Carhagen just north of Alliance here in Nebraska. Something similar to the Cadillac Ranch. Stopped Old Harley as myself and three others went by on a trip to Devils Tower, Needles Highway, and all those other wonderful places up that way. Wonderful to catch up and see even more travel enjoyment by just hitching along with the Wise Guy!

Good video! We were just through that area on vacation last summer. Of course, we had to stop and paint the cars.

We forgot how that area looks. Sad to see how the towns dried up when the four lanes bypassed them. That's progress, I guess. We will look forward to going east of Amarillo. My husband's family is in Borger, Texas, north of Amarillo.

West on 40, into the New Mexico side is a Ghost town called Cuervo. By any chance have you ever driven through there or plan to do a video on it?
@MadeleineVanLeunen3 сағат бұрын
I love driving by Cuervo on Route 66! It would make for a great historic site, especially since its in pretty good condition for a "ghost town".

Hey Coach. Small towns don't need a lot of people to exist. I like the open spaces, some good drone work.Cadillac Ranch is cool.'68-70 Caddys were some of the best cars ever made, even though the ranch cars are older. The 16 oz. steak looked good, you don't need a 72 oz. to get full benefit.........Yard spinner has a large table, good spin, fair sand bed and good drive line, with a quick jump up ride to demo,We are looking @9.0. Aesthetics fair to middlin'......Yard Tube walk through gets a 5.8 out of a standard 6.... good stuff. A fine example of a 126,000 lb. , 125' model......looking good. The pinch close ending inside, works Keep on T.C.B.

There is this weird place on google Maps called Lyon's Place in Nebraska, and it seems very mysterious. It doesn't even have a road to it, and it seems to be just trees.

The railroad line ran from Memphis to Tucumcari through this area. Since it was taken out it is ranked in the top 10 stupidest things the railroads did in the 1900s. How many trucks could have been taken off of 40?
