Thank you for this. I'm the kind of person that needs to see something used to understand it. I had no idea what the purpose of that little plate was for. That combined with a template will make the work so much easier!

Much safer than pattern bits to, pattern bits are the only bits I’ve had fail which in turn made my backside fail! 😬

Lovely bit of bush advice there. Love how you can do a clear demonstration in a few minutes when some take an hour 🙌

To be fair I could of brought that down to 30 seconds 😂I do try and keep it minimal mind, but its hardly fair punting vids that take 3 hrs per minute of watched time to produce and not make some pennies back from youtube for those hours spent bud - its not a great deal for us creators that keep peeps on this sight to be honest. With out us they'd have nothing...

Your aversion against flush trim bits was music in my ear. I got the same experience on wearout on my templates and Fingerjoint Jigs. Thats why I started using bushings and the results are the same. It took me a while to figure out how to use them properly. But when you got it, it saves a lot of material on wear and tear. Also I really liked your criticism on the spiral cutter heads of your planer :)
@HewAndAwe3 жыл бұрын
If I was honest I'd say flush trim / pattern bits are my last resort, even in a router table - some funky grain and its game over, climb cut or not. I'd sooner do it by hand and not shit myself 😂
@fernard898510 ай бұрын
Forgive me for asking a stupid question. So when using a bushing I can simply install a regular straight bit without the bearing? I have a really hard time finding a flush trim bit for a reasonable price. I need to cut grooves for t-tracks for my next project and I have ever used a router before. My makita router came with a 10mm template ring, is it suitable for this purpose?
@HewAndAwe10 ай бұрын
Correct yes 👍 I can’t comment on Makita as I’ve never used them but as long as the cutter isn’t hitting the guide, and the guide is centred in the router and you’ve worked out the offset correctly on the template you’re good to go. 👌

hi,in this video you introduce a leigh 704r adapter install at of1100,that’s great,I got an of2200 already,if used FESTOOL 494627 adapter will have😂 a little movement,so I want to know of2200 also could use this leigh 704R adapter ?
@HewAndAwe Жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry for the late reply! I’m sure it would cause a large portion of their cutters are 1/2” maybe in need of a separate plate cause the festool guide bushes are made individually and one piece - another expensive add on thanks Festool 🤦🏻♂️

thanks I have washed a few vids and yours has been the best. as in I totally understood the maths. I'm not stupid I'm just dyslexic with maths and like I said other vids just spieled out numbers which confused the hell out of me. again thanks

You and me bothe mate, it confused the hell out of me too. Like you I'm dyslexic badly (me) It wasnt till I figured it out myself that it made sense to me. I'm self taught, never got on at school, was made to look like a dumb cunt too, I'll never forget that! SO yeah I know where youre coming from mate!!! I use Apple computers cause they help a lot with it!!!

At 5:41 , can you put the base plate on top of the bushing piece and screw it in so the bushing won't come loose, as it has in other routers and ruin the bit and bushing it self? beside using lock tite or plumbers tape. eh I asked too soon lol You cannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! nice :)

@@HewAndAwe Believe me, If I had the money, My choice would be Festools. Their bushings are more secure than those that screw on but come lose as you go down the lane with it and ruin the bit and the base plate hold down hole for bushings,. been there done that.

No one cares what your taste in music is, nor will ever conform to what you think. You’ll never influence anyone to change their creative choice/mind!Get over yourself, you have no power, you’re only one person in billions of people that’s how little you are. Free yourself from that narcissistic mentality and life for you son, will be so much more enjoyable.
