I wonder if Liminoid experience (identity) could be the Liminal one which could be transformative, but couldn't happen due to confounding variables. i.e. Diasporic identity - at some point the exiled people were in this liminal stage where the initial resettlement phase was their liminal phase, but part of them was never transformed , can it be liminoid then in sense that it lacked transformation ? Or is liminoid referring only to 'wanna-be-liminal', but is actually just a temporary break from self/society?

I think of liminoid experience as chameleon-like, playing roles instead of seeing becoming transformed. This reminds me of the story of Inanna, the goddess who goes to the underworld and meets 3 aspects of herself: preserver, creator, and destroyer avatars. Inanna herself is the story of the transformer avatar. The transformer is liminal, and the destroyer is liminoid.
