That was TOO LEAN!!! 😱😱 The fact that you had the high speed screw turned ALL the way out, tells me that the main Jet in the Carb is TOO small.... First thing I would do, is take the Carb apart, and drill out the Main Jet just a little, and try Tuning again. You'll likely find out that the Carb is just too small, full stop! Does Walbro make a physically larger Carburettor? It's STARVING! Bigger Bore, bigger throttle plate, just bigger.... Sure, comparable Engines run just fine with that Carb. But with those Port sizes, she's starving for fuel AND air. She seems like she wants to LEAP when you went from idle to full throttle. However, she kept falling flat, just above midrange..... Also, don't rule out the Exhaust! Sure you made a mounting plate that fits the Port - but that's trying to SQUEEZE into a noticeably Smaller Header Pipe. Now, I don't know tons about 2-stroke Engines, but I've been building Race Engines for Cars, for over 35 years. I'm half decent at telling what a well tuned Engine is SUPPOSED to sound and run like.... Basically, it really seems like this Engine was rushed into production, merely for shock value! I TRULY wish I had one, to try to sort out it's obvious shortcomings.... YOU obviously look like you know well what you're doing. I just want to get in on the fun! I HOPE you get this sorted. I watched The video prior to this one he states that the carb manufacture said his carburetor part number is only rated for 35cc...Then add the fact that the exhaust isn’t right and the engine was not broke in While getting the piss beat out of it with a lean condition. I would say those are all good reasons why any engine would run like total sheeeeeeiiiit! but that’s just my opinion. If I buy a cheaper engine I know the second I hit by it now online my expectations won’t be too high rite out of the box. I know I will be tearing the engine apart and doing what needs to be done to meet my expectations like porting, timing done by me. possible carb swap etc Will be more than likely. that’s the savings I’m doing the extra work. and just like anything if you take the time to do it right the first time it usually pays off in spades. and you always need to remember every engine will have a different power band at a different RPM so if it doesn’t like the gearing you’re using it won’t work. then try playing with different spring tensions on your clutch or drilling out The clutch shoes so the clutch will engage later or from the preset 6,500 rpm to 8,500 for instance. its all trial and error. Believe me if you get the formula right you can make a junk engine with a little elbow grease coupled with the right gearing and clutch engagement based on what the engine likes. it will run like a raped ape guaranteed. it just depends if you’re a thinker that likes to tinker or if you want to spend your way out of a problem.

@@pauldenmark3629 Depending on what engine you have a head kit would be the best option as it'll bolt right on to your existing engine. But the fastest Baja I have ever seen for bashing was a 26cc that had been ported..... The Baja is lighter then a Losi 5ive and because it's not 4wd it doesn't need an engine with a high amount of torque to get it moving, it needs an engine that revs crazy high and for that a 23cc to a 27.2cc is perfect for it.
