the rover 216GTi got two D16 engines, the D16A6/7/Z2,- a sohc D16 and the D16A8/9 DOHC which is kinda like a DOHC ZC. The rovers just got different rocker covers.

Cracking car! Nice one on the turbo conversion. I've got a 420 GSi Turbo and have actually ordered one of those clone HKS SSQV's earlier today. I've heard that they are actually the same DV's that HKS use... just without the branding. Only cost me £30 anyway so if it's crap, it's not a big loss. Can't wait to drive past some chav in a Saxo and dump... should leave them a bit confused.

brilliant! had the same plans for my 216DOHC TC, but it was sadly written-off by some old man!!! Although i now have a 220GSi Turbo. Still, i'd rather have the Honda engine anyday

@coltsuperocean10 Have you ever owned one? I bought my 420 GSI tourer with 78000 miles for £500 and it's great and reasonably quick! You can pick up 220 turbos for about £1000 and stock they will hump Type Rs! all of them from the ek9 onward! Good Value just a little ruff around the edges...... Oh and why all the hate! Different strokes for different folks! Calm Down!

The DOHC VVC Engine had 138 bhp, the full 220 turbo had 197 bhp (204psi)

bonnet is terrible, and the air filter location is totally pointless. Relocate the battery to the boot and make an enclosure.
