I think Rover should be a villager in the next animal crossing much like Porter and maybe, Shrunk. Any characters who retired as a certain task like Rover, Porter, or even a tortoise like Tortimer should be placed as a regular villager if there’s no task. That idea preserves the past characters.

So to all those people who keep on shitting on others because they time travel let remind you that A. The deck realize that you're doing this and they do allow you to do this. Of course there are consequences but not enough to make it so you stop it entirely. Let me also remind you again animal crossing has been around for nearly 2 decades now, by city folk I imagine that if they didn't want you to time travel they could've somehow found a way that the in game clock would not affect the actual game like other games.
