I’ve started full restoration of a 1970 P5b, zirconia blue with webasto sun roof. Seeing this stunning example gives me extra determination to see it through.

Best ever, l had a green one in 1971. After l also had 2 V8's, great engine, great car Great Britain, something to be proud of when the UK could make cars.

Nice car. And good memories. My father owned one of these and there was even a telephone inside.(Left hand drive). In the early 80ies. Now are only left photographies of us. Father and the car are history.

We loved our 70 Admiralty Blue so much we brought her out to Australia with us in 81 when we emigrated! We couldn't bear to leave her, Alas we parted with her in the late 90s but she lives on and is still in North Queensland and Loved till this day! Unfortunately I live in the Netherlands , a beautyful example like this one does 25000 plus Euro's overhere . So I have to save a while longer and pamper my 75 1.8 Connoseur ❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful car, I can see why it sold within 2 hours, I’d like one someday. I think Rover based the look and shape of the 75 on the P5B, pity the SD1 wasn’t better made as it all went downhill from then on.

It is a beautiful car, however I am little uncomfortable that these cars being exempt from MOT tests, how does that rule work? For all we know we can be driving a death traps.

Lovely, lovely motor vehicle. I would guess Birch Grey over Admiralty Blue, but it's a bit hard to judge in the video, so, it's possibly black, not blue. I'm quite jealous of the new owner 🙂

Wrong. Coupe means lowered roof,( though a lot of coupes did have 2 doors the term refers to lowered roof, ie chopped). In the U.S. I believe it now means 2 door, but the literal meaning was lowered roof.

@@vamboroolz1612 Agreed. Plus this model's actual name is "Coupe". Want to get annoyed about car names? Start with the all-electric Porsche called the Turbo. Or the new four-door electric Ford called the Mustang.

Not always … But mostly yes…. And RAY yes. You nailed it…. And es Rampo. You nailed it too, The roof line simply set it apart from the saloon version. I had several ( saloons ) in the 60’s … nice cars…

Not P5 Rovers mate. All the coupes have 4 doors. That's the way the Rover company made them. The most significant change for the coupe was the lowered roof line and sloping windscreens front and rear. There's even a badge on the boot that reafs coupe.

Yep it's the lower roof line, not 2 doors that made this one a coupe.
