Our neighbours had the later v8 coupe version, which was stunning. It was a joy to ride in, and I still believe it to be timelessly beautiful.

The hub caps, petrol filler lid, side window overhangs and seat covering treatment were different on later models. My father had a '63 in the same colour grey with blue seats with individual front ones.I used to love treating the leather with saddle soap for horse saddles to keep it supple and to polish the wood with pledge wood polish.I used to treat any black rubber or radiator hoses or the radiator top with tyre paint to keep it looking sharp.I was allowed to drive it to the local petrol station on Sunday to fill up after I had polished the bodywork to get it ready for the following week.It was so smooth and silent,I just loved driving it.In 1967 my father took me back to our former home town of Solihull to have it factory serviced and we had a tour of the factory to watch them being made. That was a true grand day out !

Beautiful car, I own one and it's given me untold pleasure for over 30 years. I hope this one finds a good home.

Not that the roads are exactly an untold pleasure though. possibly 4am in the summer could be a pleasure.

With modern plastic wheel arch liners, grease on the rear of the bumpers, a coating of wax and waxoil it should be bomb proof together with an immobiliser and a couple of concealed or revealed in disguise cut out switches.

That colour is now offered by lot's of manufacturers now in 2018.

Some advice on camera technique , keep it steady at all times , and pan slowly , it was lmpossible to see anything clearly when you had the bonnet up , but a lovely car .

Bradley James Classics no worries !! My dad had one of these early ones. Went all over the country in it. Auto gearbox was rubbish though as always going wrong!! But felt like an aristocrat from the big leather seats..

My Dad had 1959 mk1.and a 1973 V8.. in his words... the 3 litre was better made quieter and without any faults over its 16 yrs with us.... the V8 was better for towing.... enough said.
