What you said about the butterflies is spot on. I've had people constantly tell me that butterflies are okay, but I've always felt like the right person....they don't make you nervous, or give you butterflies. They bring you peace and clarity. Like, "Oh, it's you. You belong here." You know?

I've needed this honestly. I've spent a ton of time recently thinking about how lonely I feel, which is only worsened by social media and seeing everyone else hanging out with everyone else. Even though I'm in a relationship, it's important to keep in touch with myself and my friends and my family; a romantic relationship is amazing at many times, but isn't everything.

This video couldnt come in a better moment, i broke up with my boyfriend almost a week ago after a 1 year 4 monthish relationship. I miss him but his old him, not the last 6 months him. The thing is, i wanted to tell someone something and i immediately thought of telling him, but i can't, he doesn't care. He lost the interest in the relationship a time ago and i was tired of trying saving it alone. So when i realized that i couldn't because my loving boyfriend of 6 months ago didn't existed anymore i started crying. Now is just this boy who couldn't even care about my birthday or my health, and said things like "my problems are too big for him"(my "big problem" is a bad stomach and worrying about university(?)). This video is the best 🙌🌸 thank you girl, you got me

It was hard to realize, but saying no to him meant saying yes to me. Only now that I’m out of it I realize how much emotional energy I spent (now that I have that energy back to myself), and how good I feel to spend that energy on me. Taking care of myself. The tears stop after awhile, stay strong it gets better :)

Rowena, your channel and videos are so therapeutic and by sharing your experiences and thoughts you are helping so many people. Watching this, I felt like I was sitting with a sister or close friend -I needed this so much, thank you. I just yesterday went through a break-up with my boyfriend of 6 months. I know that is a short time comparatively, but it was my first truly committed relationship with someone I could tell truly cared for me. We have such compatible personalities, laughed so much together and truly never fought. He was someone I could be my 100% raw unfiltered self around and with him I felt the happiest I have felt in a long time. I have been through a lot of challenging experiences that have led me to deal with anxiety and depression and my dependence on him was too hard on him. I realize now that while we are all constantly working on self-improvement, there can be a time where you realize that you haven’t fully healed from things in your past and that you need to find inner-peace on your own and truly heal before you can be the best partner. I think he also lacked the emotional maturity and ability to sympathize or empathize with what I have been through even though I know he cares deeply for me. My anxieties and emotions started to take a toll on him. It is difficult to say goodbye to someone who you feel truly compatible with just for the sake of finding peace within yourself, but I suppose it all comes down to timing. I feel excited and motivated to take the necessary steps to heal and fully accept my past and learn better coping mechanisms and self-care practices that I couldn’t fully invest in when I was spending all of my spare time with him. I know it wasn’t just my anxieties that caused our relationship to end, and that he has his own things to work on and priorities at this point in his life. Our last moments ended with a tender embrace with neither of wanting to let go too early or hold on too long. He will always hold a special place in my heart and I know that we will both be better off to work on ourselves (my inner peace and happiness, and his emotional maturity and vulnerability.) I have faith that we will both have happy lives and find true love one day. I’m thankful for your videos during my time of moping, haha and I love having this community in the comments of like-minded people just trying to do their best one day at a time ❤️

I get this. For me, my healthy relationship started after I didn't feel the need to do all the analysis, questioning, etc about how to "love right." (of which I did a lot). I'm 29 and have been in a relationship for 4 years, that in reality has been many different relationships, just with the same person, as we have grown and evolved. Most recently, my boyfriend has taken care of me for the past 5 months as I'm recovering from being hit by a car and having a severely broken leg and surgery. It has added such a depth to our relationship that takes way too many words to explain here

I think it is so beautiful how you talk about wanting to marry someone in the same culture as you. I am in a similar situation and recently discovered that I would prefer to marry someone in my same culture as well. Sometimes people tell me that I should be more open minded and I do see where they are coming from, but I agree with you that someone who understands the inside jokes, beliefs, and family values of my culture is appealing. It is so nice to hear someone else express the same views :) Love this vid and love you how spiritual you are!!

It’s really true when someone says when you get into a relationship all the flaws are revealed from underneath the person we market ourself to the world. You’re totally right about it being unfair to carry baggage for the person you are in the present. It’s so important to constantly evolve as an individual. Heartbreak as well truly redefines how you see love and how you experience it.
@mysasuke556 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to speak of this topic. I know love isn’t a topic people feel comfortable opening up to, especially being realistic about it. My ex and I had a mutual breakup recently, but it wasn’t because we fell out of love. We just knew were not growing together, nor were we challenging each other. It’s been hard to accept that he’s no longer my best friend in a sense. However, he’s prospering and becoming the man I knew he would be able to become. I just have to accept that his happiness is no longer with me. I also need to learn how to be single. Like you, I’ve been dating back to back, so being alone was never a norm for me. I hope to become the best version of myself. Two mediocre people will not create a great person. I need to become the best version of myself, and for the sake of my future relationship. Love you!

I’m very interested in seeing how my perspective will change on relationships and being single once I get in a relationship and experience being in love. I am 24 now and I have little to no dating experience. I’m talking never even had a real fling. I am from the south so some peers get married very young. Or if they are not married majority will be in relationships. I’ve always been on the outside looking in and for 19 years I loved it that way 💕. It’s weird because I feel like I am in a really healthy place and my heart is wide open and so so ready but I can’t seem to get lucky hahah. I love spending time with me and working on myself, it truly is a beautiful thing. But I feel like I’ve been doing that forever now. It feels like there is a huge imbalance. I don’t know what it’s like to go on date nights, hold hands in the park, get a big bear hug just because, or for a guy to tell me he misses me. It’s not the end of the world that I haven’t experienced these things but my heart certainly longs for it. I wish that this side could be talked about more. Lovely video as always 💕

I just gave up with me but!Here's hoping that your experience will be worth the time and confusion 💖

Hey, I've never been in a relationship and I'm 21 years old. I'm a hopeless romantic so of course, at times I do fantasize about how my first relationship will be. I tried online dating and met a couple of cool people on there and I was about to meet them but I know deep down I'm not ready for a relationship. I was doing that not because I wanted to experience something new but because I was lonely which is a horrible reason to get into a relationship. Before I get into a relationship I want to work on myself. I want to improve my self-esteem and confidence. I want to try new things. And as cheesy as it sounds when my heart tells me I'm ready I will put myself out there I guess haha Anyways, sorry for the long essay lol Just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone and there are a lot of us who have never been in a relationship. Wishing you the best and sending you lots of love :)

Yazmin That’s beautiful that you are so self aware. Continue to follow your heart and do what feels right. Remember that it is ok to feel lonely from time to time. And that you don’t have to be perfect to be in a relationship. Self love, self esteem, confidence etc... those are all important to have before entering a relationship as you mentioned. Because we make wiser decisions when we have those things. But regardless of where you are on the self love scale you are deserving of love 💕

You're fine! There's no perfect age to start dating or get into a relationship. Best advice I can give you is ALWAYS trust yourself and what your gut is telling you when it comes to meeting men. It will save you time, energy and heartbreak. Enjoy the single life, I think it's awesome, having so much time to learn how to love yourself and work to become a better human being each day❤ You will eventually meet someone, fall in love and get to experience all of that😍 just keep doing you haha😁😗

I'm 24yo. I've been single so far because I always thought it's not worth my time. I love being with myself and enjoying doing things I love to do. It's not that I don't wanna be in a relationship. Just I think I should feel for someone that it's worth to go beyond all my boundaries. I've set a thick wall around me from the things I've seeing in the toxic relationships around me. I also believe I will feel it when the right person comes. If you are asked out and if you have to take time and consider all the goods and bads of having a relationship with that person I think that's not it. You should feel it. You should feel home. At the end your heart and Brain knows the answer deep down. Listen to your true inner voice.That's what I believe.😄 Thanks for the nice video!

I’m sure it wasn’t just a flick of a switch, but I’ve just ended a 4 year relationship and it’s very hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. So if you do make another one of the single/relationship videos I would love to know about how you progressed through the four years after ending your relationship. At what point did you stop missing the person? At what point did you not feel guilty anymore (if you did have feelings of guilt)? Love you and your videos! 💕❤️

Thank you, this really helps. I broke up with my boyfriend last night because I was being cyber-bullied so much that it really knocked my confidence, and I realised that I don't have the confidence to feel accepted in a relationship, so I had to end it. Also, I feel like I'm just no good for anyone so it just feels easier to sever all ties. I love him so much, but I had no choice. He's trying to get me back, but he doesn't realise how much harder it's making it for me. Although for now, all I wanna do is lay in bed, I'm hoping that before long, I'll find ways to carry on with my life again. ❤

I don't know why I have this constant thought that I need to find a boyfriend that other people will like or should think that "oh they belong together" or "you guys look good together" or even thinking to myself "he's not too good for me" and "I'm good enough for him". Maybe it's because of how everything is idealized in media or how I see the "perfect couple" on instagram. I feel like when I meet the person I'm meant to be with then these thoughts will go away. But how do I set aside these thoughts while I'm dating now? Has my mind been so warped to concede to a certain social norm that couples should visually look good together?
