I had same problem with my brand new Rowenta steamer!! Purchased in Dec. 2020, I did not open it and try to use until September 2021, and brand new it did NOT WORK! I played with it and tried a couple preliminary things you did without disassembling it. I am glad I saw your two videos on this. I am going to try to send it back to Amazon because it is brand new, If they don't take it back I will have to find some place that repairs irons. Wish me luck! I will not buy Rowenta products anymore. Thanks for your videos.

I just figured out today by fixing it on my own inspired by KZbin related video. It is all about blockage by water hardness. Use white vinegar and inject the water holes two on the holding area and steam tiny holes on the top. Manage to inject vinegar inside holes and make Stay for hours or over night. Then use syringe to rinse by water. Tools I use are syringe with tiny tip (not screwed) and tooth picks(sealing the other holes while working on one hole... Given that it is so easy to get blocked I think it should be used with distilled water to minimize the maintainess

Friend A I always use distilled water as specified by the manufacturer.

Wow! So glad I found your video!!! Several years ago I bought a Rowenta S-Cel steamer. My daughter was going for job interviews & is Very picky about how she looks, so I wanted to be prepared to help her look her best. I had a Rowenta steam iron for many many years that was super for producing steam - so I chose the Rowenta steamer. Just like several of your other viewers - - - it didn't work out of the box! Daughter was only with me for a few days, so steamer got put away. Now, I'm trying to use it & ugh - doesn't work... I'll check out your fix video!

Rowenta customer "service" is non-existent. I couldn't even get "her" (Stacey of Rowenta Consumer Service) to address my problems with the Xcel Steamer. I did not have a receipt either, as it was a gift, and the unit never worked, new, right out of the box. I couldn't even get her to give me an address of a service center to send the unit to to PAY to have it repaired. The video on KZbin is spot-on. I loved my Rowenta steam iron, but I will never ever buy another Rowenta product, and I will tell as many people as possible what crappy customer service they maintain.

Constance Marie THANKS for your input. I sent Rowenta's customer service a link to this video and they never addressed it. Have you seen the fix I used: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYTLg4tuqaaantU I hope you can get it to work if you are not getting steam as in my video. GOOD LUCK!

My steamer will not even turn on when plugged in. Something is wrong with the plug prongs.
@starastronomer5 ай бұрын
@sharonsalzberg2654 INTERESTING...does the switch light come on after you plug it in and turn on the unit? It should flash until it has warmed up and the light on the switch will stop flashing.
