I've been a personal trainer helping people hit fitness goals for 13 years and this advice is awesome and so right - also good to have a weekly goal of making any kind of progress (even if that is finishing your schedule for the week)

Love being part of the #yamsquad. Managed a PB today on 30mins 20 stroke rate. Hit 7826 metres this morning. Still improving even in my late forties 👍

Only just saw this today! Definitely needed it after a tough training session this winter. As a young rower I need to keep motivating myself especially during the winter season and this helped! :)

@cam this is perfect advice. It really is a balance of stretch goals and then micro goals to get to the big goal. I started rowing in March and once I got into it, I set a goal to row a half marathon by the end of the year. So I set long row targets each month to work up to the half marathon. You need small victories to get to the big victory :-) I completed my half marathon in October well ahead of schedule #yamsquad. Hope you get back on track soon after recovering from infection!

Woah.. can somebody tell me if my 7:08 2k (16y at that point, just turned 17) is somewhat decent? I’m quite skinny, 130lbs/56kg for 6’1/183cm that is. Trying to put on some weight tho. #Yamsquad

Moritz Aufenanger its good for your weight, but at that size you should be around 150 to become a solid lightweight. If that 20 extra pounds is muscle, your time will go down substantially.
