Thanks for doing this video. Having moved back to Ireland in recent years I've been amazed and curious about these land disputes in rural Ireland. It does seem to be more common in the Southwest. I know of another family in rural Cork having a property dispute which hasn't turned violent, thankfully, but has lead to a family having no communication with each other. Having lived in England for 10 years I never heard about any such disputes. You would hear more about a farmer shooting a trespasser than family infighting over land.

Terry Land and property defines a persons status and the respect he gets in rural Ireland. Cheating or robbing a person of land is the worst form of disrespect to a person in rural Ireland. It destroys the dignity respect and status of that person. It reduces his worth and value in the eyes of others. It leads to that man being disrespected and treated like dirt. It is almost the equivalent of killing a man.
